Vancouver?

An NBA team that existed for only 6 last place years.

A good hockey team generally. But no cups, and 2 game 7 finals losses that resulted in riots.

No Mlb team. We used to have a triple A team, then we had an AA team, now oir team is even lower.

No NFL team obviously. At least our CFL team has a good history.

Great city for alternative sports though like skiing, snowboarding, rock climbling, cross country running, mountain biking, wind surfing, etc.

Buffalo might push Cleveland a bit....but the answer is still Cleveland.

The complete absence of hope has to be less miserable than coming so close and failing 4 straight times. Plus buffalo is basically cleveland with snow

Nah, basically the San Diego of Canada.

If I have to face it, Portland is pretty sad. Only have an NBA team and they haven't won a title in my lifetime. And every promising basketball player the Blazers have breaks.

I'm hoping they win it, but Oakland has lost their favorite team once and will likely lose it again, the Warriors will be in SF in two years and the A's are always looking to leave, as well.

Leagues should all be remapped, anyway. Even if a given market is well-attended in general, it seems like there are cities that shouldn't have certain pro sports while others should (or at least should in sports that they don't currently have).

Man at least Cleveland has that nice weather. Only thing separating it from snowy Buffalo.

Minneapolis underrated.

If misery is having a good team that never manages to get over the hump and regularly falls short in devastating and/or embarrassing ways, you got the Vikings.

If misery is being perpetually, unendingly terrible, you got the Timberwolves.

If misery is having a terrible owner that would rather make a buck (or contract the team!) than spend money to win something, you got the Twins.

If misery is losing your hockey team to ****ing Texas and then watching that team win a Stanley Cup in front of people who don't even know what icing is, you got the North Stars.

Dallas won their cup in Buffalo (game 6, 3 OT). Buffalo fans know icing.

Even if the Sabres are getting the #1 pick this summer, they are years away from competing for another cup. Minnesota will be competing for a cup this year.

Buffalo not only lost 4 super bowls but have the longest playoff drought in the NFL. Their last playoff game in 1999 was the music city miracle:

Not to mention we lost our NBA franchise to Donald effin' Sterling.

Cleveland has NBA playoff games coming up in a week or so, how can they be the most miserable sports city?

All of this applies to Miami as well fwiw, but the heat RANGED a few times and the Marlins also RANG occasionally and then release the entire team in the offseason

If you're 1/3 on major sports I don't think you count.

Plus even though the team hasn't been super great- it's hard to look at the Timbers Army experience and see miserable.

I completely forgot the twins were about to legitimately just be wiped from existence

How does that even happen? Also who was the other team that was going to be contracted? The expos I think?

Expos yeah: http://www.twincities.com/sports/ci_...from-minnesota

My complete guess is that this was never that close to reality and was just a negotiating tactic/threat.

San Diego should be excluded. Losing sucks anywhere, but it really sucks when the loss is then compounded by walking out of the stadium with your pale, fat friends, trudging through mud and snow on a 25 degree day with wind chill. Then pack into a ****ty '02 Dodge and head off to a local sports bar where 1,500-calorie meat pies are appetizers. And that's before you get home where (if you're lucky) your wife is wearing her clean flannel and your bastard kid is out exploring abandoned buildings.

SD people lose a game, 90 minutes later they're drinking smoothies in their carefully manicured little backyards with the nice gay couple from next door who don't know sports. No ****s given.
