Maybe this makes the problem with the line clearer.

Xavi was a beast during the second half.

Disappointing loss for Portugal, very good first half, I actually told my friends at half time "I have a feeling Spain will win this 1-0 on a ****ty goal" and it happened (offsides=****ty goal imo)...

Still a deserved win overall, but it was as close of a game as I expected (until the goal obv)

I hope Queiroz will quit/get fired.

****ing awesome if you ask me.
Yep, Portugal had the potential to be so much better in this WC with a manager who wasn't so ridiculously negative, couldn't expect Ronaldo to work miracles the way the team was set up, could have done a little better obviously with decision making at times but definitely Queiroz ruined any chance Portugal had.

i just watched the goal again, twice it was offside?! That is much clearer

man, not even the Mexicans bitched this much about an even more blatant offside call.

I was shouting "OFFSIDE TWICE COME ONNNNN!!!" when i saw it first, but just rewatched it again (http://www.fifa.com/worldcup/goals/v...106/index.html), Xavi was on, Villa was off. Also the whole mix-up in the middle there with the ball going from a defender's leg right to Iniesta caused the melt-down of the right side of the Portugal defense..

Ah ok that's good, yeah i don't really have any problem with the goal being allowed, it was so marginal, Villa ended any hopes i had of two potential big wins i could have had from bets and is going to beat Higuain to the golden boot probably so i'm a bit bitter

If you attempt to elbow someone it's an immediate red, effectively the same as taking a swing at someone (although obviously there's more judgment required from the ref to determine if someone is "elbowing" with intent to hurt the opponent).

It's hard to tell but it seems like he peeks at Capdevilla and then tries to elbow him while disguising it as positioning for the ball. If that's true, it is a straight red.

Absolutely shattered. Good effort from us though, especially considering we were supposed to be the worst team in our group by far. Excited for some of our young players in 4 years, though I'm a bit worried about our defense development.

In any case, well done Japan and congratulations Paraguay.

I watched the 2nd half with some friends (most of them casual fans) and I was quite surprised by some of the comments. For examle, I though that after the goal Spain played it really well, basically controlled possession and the game and rarely gave Portugal chances to attack. One of my friends then said that Spain play bad, because they don't move enough and don't attack enough.
