Before the competition USA was probably my 2nd favorite... But geez, unbearable fans most of the time

urugauy havnt been 1-0 down yet, cambackability unknown, scored 4 and havnt conceded yet

ghana havnt scored from open play in 3 games

korea got what they needed in a high pressure game, coming from behind at 1 point, also scored 4 goals, but conceded 6

usa have shown possibly the best attitude of any team so far, only team to be 2-0 down and come back, also been 1-0 and comeback, also won a high pressured game to qualify


a very open mini league, and getting to the semis is like winning the thing for these nations imo, i fancy a korea v usa quarters tho, i put great stock in teams that produce a comeback.

imo, think America will struggle with the speed/clinical play that Uruguay will likely bring to the game. Ghana were quite fast, but so so sloppy against the germans that the US will pounce on those mistakes and exploit.

USA will definitely struggle to create

Ghana are very organized and keep it very tight unlike Algeria who were all over the place
Their centrebacks are big and strong so highballs to Altidore wont work(like vs Slovenia)
Ghana is very strong on the counter with a lot of pace, this will cause a lot of problems for the slow and somewhat leaky USA defense

Ghana at 2.06 is def good value, they matchup very well with the US

yeah its certainly not an easy draw, but its better than most at this point. We will have some issues with this side, but at the same time, they really aren't a creative force either. They scored two goals and both were penalties. They weren't able to create versus ten man Australia, a side the US crushed before the WC started.

With respect to the scenarios for Chile. If Spain wins by 2 and Switzerland wins, then Spain and Switzerland pass. If Spain wins by 1 and Switzerland wins by 2, then Spain and Switzerland pass. If Spain wins by 1 and Switzerland wins by 1, then the Swiss must score 2 more goals than Chile in the game. Example: Spain 1- Chile 0 and Switzerland 2-Honduras 1.

I think saying something like "best attitude so far" is very hard to judge. Why is there attitude better than Uruguay's or Argentina's or Brazil's? It was impressive to come back from 2-0, but on the other hand, it was ridiculous for them to fall behind 2-0 in the first place. I think part of being a great team is not getting in those situations.
After saying that, I definitely root for the US out of these four. I was thrilled with them winning today. The US is not my number 1 team in this (Mexico is), but I really like to see the US do well.

I think Uruguay is the strongest here and I wish Mexico had won the group to be over here. Mexico would have a very good shot at making the semis (just like the US has a very good shot now).

Mexico is in a tough one, where they are the weakest of the four (Argentina, England, Germany, Mexico).
