Yeah, and pitches in baseball stadiums tend to be pretty small.

Agree. Best place is seattle, portland, or kansas city

US has to play enough games on **** pitches in Central America. Don't know why they'd handicap themselves in a game that matters at home as well.

There are plenty of nice soccer stadiums in the US now. They might not be huge but I'd rather play at one of them then a converted baseball stadium.

Fair enough, think that was more down to him falling asleep on the throw than losing the header, which is obviously inexcusable, but over the course of the tournament he was a beast on crosses in the box.

Omar Gonzalez has won 9 of 10 aerial duels at this Gold Cup. John Brooks has won 4 of 8 and played 90 more minutes. (small sample, etc.)

Of 162 Bundesliga players who won 40 aerial duels last season, John Brooks was 3rd at 77% (91-118).

In 17 #USMNT caps, he's at 51% (19-37).

my eye-test is not mega-expert level for defenders

but i do think brooks eye-tests pretty well for a young defender. I like him going forward as well.

Brooks is definitely going to be really good. He's like Onyewu with passing ability.

But he still makes a lot of mistakes and isn't ready to be the first man up in every situation.

Darlington Nagbe on track to get his citizenship this fall: https://twitter.com/SoccerInsider/st...23482747228160

Seems likely to get a callup to camp at the very least.

USA should hire Herrera now that he's available. He can fix things in future tournaments.

Anyone else get tickets for the November 13th WCQ in St. Louis?

This will be my 5th USMNT game. Anyone else care to share how many and which games they've been to?
