FORWARDS (5): Jozy Altidore (Sunderland), Landon Donovan (LA Galaxy), Joe Gyau (Borussia Dortmund), Miguel Ibarra (Minnesota United FC), Bobby Wood (1860 Munich)

So cool to see Miguel ibarra make the team. I've been to 3 or 4 games and I'm not sure how hell do but he definitely stands out in that league. His speed, acceleration, quick thinking, and playmaking abilities are all top notch but he's very short and skinny so the physical side may be the hardest part of the step up in competition

is there a reason that an MLS club hasn't snapped him up? Lord knows the Fire could use someone creative on the ball (and that can retain possession)

According to odds checker there are a few books that list USA#1 as the favorite to host the 2022 world cup. Qatar is going off at 2/1 on a few books. Has my internet not refreshed in over a year or something?

Apparently we added Wondo to the team for the Ecuador game. I cannot for the life of me figure out why we would ever call Wondo for a camp again? He has no future with this team at his age and ability, there's just no reason to have him.

Julian Green out of friendlies due to injury

Also, Wondo is definitely on the roster according to US Soccer website.

Klinsmann a day before the farewell game for the best American player to ever wear the shirt:

Quote:
"As a coach, you always want to see a player that drives for his 100 percent," Klinsmann said. "I wished in a certain way, ah, he could have done a bit more here and a bit more there."
go **** yourself you fraud

Lando had his chance to do a bit more like Wondo did. ::sigh::

People I talk to don't seem to hold the same view, so maybe I'm alone but:

I see no contradiction in really liking Klinsmann, thinking he's a very good coach for our national team, and being really happy with the overall moves he's made/things he's done

and

Being a big fan of Landy. He was my favorite player when I was a youngster, and I think while he may not have been the best US player in terms of ability, his USMNT career is clearly the greatest (and will be until MB90 is done).

Players and coaches don't always get along/ don't always see eye-to-eye. Particularly the veteran superstar and the new coach with fresh ideas. There's nothing wrong with it. They're allowed to butt heads without making either one a bad person. Not all of us were there in camp to see how they both acted and carried themselves and what all was said behind closed doors. I don't think USMNT fans need to pick a side.

This is all fine and I'm pretty much in board with it, but what is JK doing taking shots at LD the day before his sendoff? It's pretty widely accepted that it was an ego driven ****up to leave him off the roster, but we still made it out of the group and people live with it. I'm looking forward to the future with him as our coach and seeing what new players he can find and I like that he's open to finding players playing in any league despite how he constantly talks about players needing to 'challenge' themselves and move up. He should have kept his mouth shut about LD if just for one week until he's off the team for good and will be retired and out of soccer here in a short couple months.

Not that I believe he's actually staying retired, but we'll see.

Can someone tell me how these matches are normally broadcast on ESPN3? Right now I see a "star camera" which is showing landon warming up and a "tactical" camera which currently says "your event is about to begin." Do they show the actual television broadcast on espn3?

They're both unusual guys and imo both can be easily offended, but Klinsmann has had like eight or nine chances to just stfu already, but he still just absolutely cannot help himself. Total amateur hour. They no doubt have a decade-plus of history that we can't begin to understand, but doesn't matter, he's the coach of the national team and has to find it in himself to not publically **** this up again and again. It would be bad enough if it was just some random agoos, but it's Landon Donovan, the face of US Soccer, so Jurgen just get yourself for like twenty seconds.

And of course he can't get over it precisely because it's LDTFOUSS. It was also lame how his kid apparently never apologized to Donovan for the tweet, it may seem like a small thing but it's pretty telling imo. Hell, it was telling that he even tweeted it in the first place; teens will be teens but lol, for that kid to either not see or not care how those dominoes were obviously going to fall...pretty terrible.

Asked this in the betting thread and got no takers.....I have $50 that says perennial sub Georgios Samaras will out score Super Jozy in PL goals this year.

Would also consider betting Samaras to out score team USAno1 in PL goals if the price is right.

Tactical cam was about a minute behind for me. Too awkward for me to watch along with the ESPN feed.

I don't see the TV feed on ESPN3.

so close. 10 minutes and whatnot but Landon still seems like one of our best players (which makes sense, because he is)

this pitch looks horrible.
