then mere moments later, he butchers a nice chance Gyasinho style!

had a chance to receive a ball in the box amid 2 defenders, and try to navigate for a shot, but he got it all wrong!

lol it somehow deflected for that pointblank shot the goalie managed to save

He's been the regular starter since Nepotism took over whenever he's called in

Prior to the arrival of Sargent and Dike who do you think should have been the starter. I don’t remember the 2019 Gold Cup, but I believe the other option was Altidore? 2020 was a wash and now where are here.

Sargent played in the Nations League and now it looks like GZ and Dike are rotating and in a competition. Sure GZ started the first game but as I’ve mentioned before we were always getting out of the group and it’s quite natural to go more veteran heavy in the first game.

Think we should just wait and let it play out

Lost in last night, it seemed like George Bello has some Demarcus Beasley in him. If he can learn to defend to even a C+ level he's going to be a great option for a long time.

The end of the 1st half was pretty poor from the US. Hopefully they can put in another to go up 2-0 and close out the game.

Yeah we CONCACAFed them pretty hard. They were the better team.

That was an ugly 1-0 win for the US. Really hope they win this tournament but with that performance.... I find that unlikely. This team would probably get smashed by Mexico / Costa Rica. Don't think its bad though if they do poorly in the ko stage here though.

World cup qualifying is what matters.

I say again, El Sal is going to be a problem in the Octo. I wonder what odds I could get on them qualifying for Qatar

maybe but their certainly up against it 2nite. ref might as well be wearing a mexico jersey. plus standard shenanigans by mexico on their first goal - throw a 2nd ball on the pitch during play to distract el salvador and then score on a breakaway smh.

Given that this is mostly the B team you are pretty much going to get your wish.

I'm going to give my positive spin and try and offset what always seems to be pure negativity in here regarding the team and coach. Although I realize they have not played very well thus far in the tournament.

My hope for this was to at least make the final and to find and help develop some pieces that can help the team in September. And Dike, Sands, Robinson, and Moore appear to be up for it.

We are undefeated. Granted the wins against Haiti and Canada were not that impressive in both cases we scored very early which can prove troublesome. But Canada might be on the verge of being the third best team in CONCACAF and are playing much of the lineup that they expect to be in September while we are going to reload.

thx for the pep talk. the A-team has a chance to do things no prior national team has done ime

the B and C-teams are the national team prior to the current A-team. it's dreadful, pathetic, often unwatchable crap. this tourney is a glorified exhibition

where's my boyee prizminferno been?

I got ya, thanks brother

Yeah the Gold Cup is just a time filler, the team hasn’t shown much and I understand how it brings back bad memories of past dreadful teams.

But it’s a free roll for us if we can possibly beat Mexico which would devastate them. Of course we may very well lose our next game.
