France:
The hosts are at least second favourite for the title, some bookies also have them on par with Germany. The squad is filled with talents and EPL players, but as always, there's also some drama* possible, with the future status of Benzema still unclear after the sex-tape-scandal involving Mathieu Valbuena. As of December 2015, Benzema is still suspended from the national team. As hosts, France was automatically qualified and played their respective opponents in their quali group in friendlies.
*For reference, let's look at how the 2010 edition of "French drama" went:

What happened:
Quote:
Midway through the competition, striker Nicolas Anelka was dismissed from the national team after reportedly having a dispute, in which obscenities were passed, with team manager Raymond Domenech during half-time of the team's loss to Mexico. The resulting disagreement over Anelka's expulsion between the players, the coaching staff, and federation officials resulted in the players boycotting training before their third game.[...]
The day after the team's elimination, it was reported by numerous media outlets that the President of France Nicolas Sarkozy would meet with team captain Thierry Henry to discuss the issues associated with the team's meltdown at the World Cup, at Henry's request. Following the completion of the World Cup tournament, Federation President Jean-Pierre Escalettes resigned from his position.

Romania:
The team, which mostly consists of players of the domestic league, was one of the four teams to go undefeated in their qualifying campaign (5-5-0), finishing second to Northern Ireland in the "group of life". It is their first international tournament in 8 years, previously qualifying for the 2008 edition of the tournament. They will also play the opening match against France, hoping to extend their unbeaten run of 17 games going back to June 2014. In their most recent game, they achieved a 0-0 draw with Spain.
Albania:
One of the five debutants and profiting from the 24 team extension of the tournament. It will be Albania's first major international tournament, with their squad of players which are scattered all over Europe. In the qualifying group, they trumped Denmark for second place, and the Danes later also lost the play-offs to Sweden. Albania will probably hope to finish 3rd in their group and sneak into the KO stage, but it seems unlikely, as basically none of the players have experience playing on this level.
Switzerland:
After being co-host in 2008 and failing to qualify for 2012, it will be the 4th time the Swiss team will participate in the European Championship. Their squad will be a mix of Bundesliga players and domestic league players, a majority from FC Basel. EPL fans can look forward to Shaqiri, while Lichtsteiner is probably a lock for the defense. For the group, Switzerland will most likely fight Romania for second place and a spot in the Round of 16.
DER MARKT:
To win the group: France 1.4, Switzerland 5.5, Romania 11, Albania 29
To qualify: France 1.05, Switzerland 1.5, Romania 1.83, Albania 5.5
To win the tournament: France 4.5, Switzerland 71, Romania 261, Albania 501 (and therefore 10 times more like to win than Leicester!)
