(They're 1.84 at Pinnacle / 1.83 at SBO and all the major soft bookies have them 1.79-1.84)

Cakir GÖAT ÖAT. Gave us Sir Alex Flappyarms, and made Sethypoop quit watching football.

I'm just happy we're not getting Carballo'd tonight. Atkinson is reffing our game. I don't mind too much. OAFK would be better than Carballo.

I'll be watching with at few fat blokes in a pub, so sadly no live-blogging. I don't expect much, by the way. Will be happy with a draw and one or two away goals.

This article on Müller was decent.

http://www.theguardian.com/football/...munich-germany

A fun quote from it:

Quote:
One day, of course, he will have to think about his future. In October, a fairly innocuous Müller remark – “Of course, the wages that are being paid in the Premier League are very tempting, it would be hypocrisy to deny that” – triggered another round of reports that he might be bound for Old Trafford.
Something something about shirts...

Btw, to pass the time till the matches, this was also fun (but please please mute it):

I also think a bunch here are underrating Arsenal, despite lolpl and everything. Las Palmas were close to drawing at the end in the weekend, and in general, Barca haven't really been that good away from home in the CL in the Messi era (compared to their "normal" level).

But pretty stoked. There's just no way this game won't be extremely entertaining!

I don't know man. In December he seemed pretty happy with our shirt.

So how has Kimmich been doing as a centreback?

Similar to Mascherano in the beginning, and Kimmich isn't a defensive midfielder mind you, I guess if the main part of your job takes place in the midfield areas then you can be just fine the majority of the time and for this kind of team even improve certain things over what most centrebacks are able to do.

For Juventus in the past weeks I've really been hoping Morata would play over Mandzukic because his pace is an absolute must to threaten behind and in the 2v2 situations Juventus playing with two strikers will be going for against Bayern who boldly usually do not shy away from staying man vs man/1v1 in the back.

Now with the Bayern injury plagued makeup and quicker defenders to match Morata/Dybala anyway, who knows if Mandzukic with his prototypical striker target-man strengths couldn't be a tougher matcup for inexperienced defenders.

I will still worry about his lack of pace though and if Juventus are pushed too far back and never enjoy any kind of sustained possession (+set pieces in Bayern half) then he could be absolutely useless trapped in no man's land against a Bayern defense successfully defending far far away from their own goal.

Mandzukic vs Kimmich could definitely be something to watch also for their temperaments. Both are pests and I could see their duels creating some very uncomfortable moments for the ref Atkinson.

Alex Sandro getting injured also sucks since it's my firm belief that Evra has been seriously carried by the rest of the team and could be badly exposed here. Maybe just maybe if he is only 100 pct defending never taking steps forward he could be fine but that in itself isn't without problems.

I like that Cuadrado has found his way into the team with some consistency and hopefully that continues. In this game Juventus need as many strong individual 1v1 threats as possible and with Dybala, Pogba and Cuadrado there might just be enough.

352 had won its way back as the main Juventus formation since they were last seen in the CL.

It basically happened because the 3 centrebacks are probably all top 5 hierachy members and another is the goalkeeper but with Chiellini out specifically there isn't a natural candidate for the left-centreback position.
Barzagli could fill in there and I have a lot of confidence in talented Rugani (who would be automatic for Bayern and is arguably the 4th best Italian defender) but I would expect Allegri's version of 442 and the Bonucci/Barzagli partnership instead.

Why oh why do you schedule these two games at the same time. Switch around Bayern and WOB game next time foolz.

Gonna be a tough call on what to watch. I feel like draw and draw could happen.

That 1.7 on a Barca win was a horrible price if you watched their performance away to Las Palmas on Saturday.

Yes, FCB aren't going to roll over Arsenal that easily tonight, but predicting a 3-1 win for Arsenal is insanity, actual insanity.

Arsenal fans, be super ****ing happy if you get a 0-0

Hah, one second before you posted this, I posted in the other thread (Euro Footy) that he's beasting for us. Of course in an "all things considered" kind of way when we're talking strictly CB. He's been great all year in midfield and he's doing a fine job as CB, too. He's not very tall, though and he'll have trouble against the likes of Mandzukic () in the air.

I'm actually scared ****less of Mandzu. Offensively as well as defensively.

afaik barca have the 3 best players in the world playing in the 3 most important positions on the pitch and will therefore win by many goals

them taking the foot off the pedal vs las paellas on the weekend in preparation for this match is meaningless

Yeah, this is definitely a possible hot spot. None of the two are known to back down or are very calm emotionally.

Nervous for tonight, however I'm confident we will have a chance or two in the game is just whether we take them or not. I'm split on starting with giroud tonight though, on one hand he's such a threat in the air and during set pieces as well as elite hold up and link play. However tonight you feel we need as much pace as possible in our front three to hit them on the counter. Personally I'd start Welbeck ahead of Walcott as he gives a physical presence aswell as pace. Harsh on giroud though if he doesn't start as he's been excellent.
