I'm not sure what everyone else thinks, but that seems like a reach here.

Since the last LeBron reversal was a commissioner ruling and not an official veto, I still have mine and am officially exercising it against LeBron going at #10. Let the voting commence.

I think I side with TuT here.

I agree. Lebron shouldn't be top 10 in this. Pretty sure the guy who the freaking logo was designed after and wasn't too bad of a player should've been in the top 10 with out question.

pretty ridic that u'd veto it twice lbj is a fine pick here quit hating
09-16-2010 , 01:52 AM
i mean for how epic it is i just wanna let it stand
09-16-2010 , 01:53 AM
but it will certainly ruin the "spirit" of the draft and there's no way there will be agreement on it. man, so epic though. is that the same writeup? persistence, imo.
09-16-2010 , 01:55 AM
i took cvig's advice and added a photo actually

pretty ridic that vetos are even allowed in this tbh, it's not like i took some scrub its ****ing lebron james
09-16-2010 , 01:59 AM
i like it and i approve, even though i agree kobe goes ahead of him.

the writeup is just too good imo.

09-16-2010 , 02:06 AM

Five piece Yamaha drum set, 3 years old, good condition and I'm asking $300 for that.

Not really. You can't look at it as a draft as if we are all getting a team. We are just contributing to a list but just have a certain slot where we get to make a selection for the list. In this format it's perfectly reasonable to veto stuff or else the thing could just get really stupid quickly. So there is the individual drafting aspect but also the group collaboration aspect also.
09-16-2010 , 02:17 AM
if you are trying to compile a list that the forum agrees upon, then ok overriding picks is w/e but that's not what a draft is. point is to let people pick their own groups

Meant to respond to this earlier but was on phone and wanted to address it properly. I'm quite the Shaq fan and would probably take him over any other center in a vacuum, but that's largely just due to his freakish size and humans didn't really get that big with that type of athleticism back then so he has an unfair advantage historically speaking.

Anyway, some points against him:

1. He has zero titles without another elite player around him. In Orlando when he was relatively by himself he got crushed by Hakeem and it wasn't until he had Kobe or Wade that he was able to break through. Other guys were able to win without as much help.

2. He was unable to deliver Nash and LeBron rings while LeBron was at his best and Nash was still very dominant. I think some of the other top bigs would have done this pretty easily. His WIM is far from infinite and an argument can be made that over the course of his career it's pretty average and maybe even bordering on negative.

3. He let Ben Wallace pretty much shut him down in the NBA finals. If that's what Ben Wallace could do to him, then what would Bill Russell do?

I'm okay with him at #5, but any earlier would have been bad.

lol not even close to true, kobe + the rest of the laker cast had a terrible series, shaq beasted

Lebron James lol? If we are talking about what we think of a guys future and counting that as his career then I'm putting Blatche in the top 100.

I think Bobbo's goal was kind of a universal list that most of us would stand behind. In retrospect, we probably should have agreed on groups of 10 and then ranked them and then average out the rankings or something. This will work just fine though as long as Epi starts taking it seriously after his second reversed pick. The list looks good so far.

He didn't really beast given that he was defended one-on-one and was held to his averages, which were compiled mostly while he would demand double teams.
09-16-2010 , 02:22 AM
lol i am taking this seriously, just cause i had lebron james to be #6 overall i'm somehow not? u guys might call it a spew but almost all of you have made picks that many/everyone have disagreed with and called spew in other drafts

shaq outperformed his averages where as kobe played terrible, he shot like 30% iirc

Nobody played well for the Lakers in the 2004 finals including Shack. There was a game in there where he had like 7 rebs. Kobe showed way more WIM in that series, Shack was fat and out of shape. (Proceeded to lose all the weight that summer and show up at the MTV movie awards like 35 lbs lighter when he got traded)
09-16-2010 , 02:25 AM
It sounds weird to say, but 4 titles and 1 MVP is a pretty disappointing career for him. He seriously had the highest peak ever imo.
