Usually on Thanksgiving I'm on my 3rd whiskey before the lions are down this much.

In jeopardy imo.
Too bad Belichick isn't coaching, I think Fischer will shut it down. Although it doesn't matter if the Lions can't tackle anyone.

Lions have the 1st overall pick, the Cowboys late 1st, and the 33rd overall pick. They should seriously scrap the entire coaching staff and cut all their players that aren't any good. Maybe try to trade Sims, he prob has what 2 yrs left on his deal, and if he had a brain wouldn't resign.

First half records could be on the table:

NFL Records:
Most Points, Each Half
1st:
49 Green Bay vs. Tampa Bay, Oct. 2, 1983
48 Buffalo vs. Miami, Sept. 18, 1966

Its been downhill for Kevin Smith since he didn't break Sanders rushing record in that bowl game.

Time to end this Thanksgiving tradition and dump the Lions.

Every game he runs hard, plays like a beast, while the rest of the team stands around sucking.

Alright Vix this is what I got from Cherilus.

Guy is a hand fighter. For a RT I'm not a fan. There isn't to many DEs that are going to get beat with hand fighting. But he is fast off the ball and covers plenty of ground. He won't get beat off the edge to often. I think he needs to punch more rather than get in little hand skirmishes. They will obviously work on that this offseason. His rush blocking is alright. He gets into a player but he is really tall when he comes off the ball into his man. You don't see the elites do this and thats not something that can be changed easily.

Overall he looks alright. I think an interior lineman is a must for them. Also a pounder would be good. Teams like the Lions need a punishing RB.

There is no reason to have Collins + Johnson is this game. Johnson has had a lot of carries he could definitely use a rest, Collins is old and could get injured very easily.

Put Vince in and split carries between LenDale and the 3rd back.

Kevin Smith ha splayed well this year and other than Calvin is easily their best offensive player this year.

I don't think any team is going to bench some of its starters half way through the second quarter..

I really don't get why they don't start Cherilus at LT and just dump Jeff Backus. He's been a disappointment for most of his career, and other than staying injury-free he hasn't been that great during his career in Detroit.

I bet the finish the first half atleast.

The guy from Zona is terrible that they drafted last year imo. One of their few WTF picks for the Titans the last couple of seasons (Chris Henry).

lol @ LenDale "understanding his role"

he sucks, he is just used to take punishment off C. Johnson.

I can def see waiting until half for benching Collins but you can easily take Chris Johnson out now.

I don't know if this deserves a thread because I don't know the possibility but this game doesn't seem to be interesting to talk about so....whats the opinion on this comment from Vic?

Do you think the specter of a possible rookie salary cap in 2010 will cause more NCAA juniors than usual to skip their senior years? Will it be a big factor?
Quote:
Vic: You’re asking the right question but in a convoluted way. Yes, even though 2010 could be an uncapped year, there would still be a rookie salary cap and, yes, more juniors will want to skip their senior years to enter the 2010 draft, but not because there’s a rookie salary cap but because they’ll want to avoid a potential players strike in 2011. The possibility exists that 2011 could result in a lockout or, more likely, in replacement players.
