I'm still not sure how I feel about Puzz. Anyone else feel LB is one of the hardest positions to judge from a fan's standpoint outside of OLmen? The great & terrible one's stand out but distinguishing between average & good can be tough. Kawika Mitchell is really the only Bills LB I ever see making plays but I think that's just the scheme in that he blitzes more.

To the people posting Tom Brady and Eli Manning:

Jahri Evans was the New Orleans Saints' 4th round pick in 2006, from Division II Bloomsburg University, and has started every game at right guard for the Saints since. Pat Yasinskas of ESPN.com recently called him the Saints' best offensive lineman, and the guy who anchors the whole thing-- quite a feat when you consider what a good (and more highly recognized) pass blocker LT Jammal Brown is.

And at left guard, Jamar Nesbit is another guy who doesn't get much recognition, as an older veteran who signed with the Saints in 2004 and moved into the starting role in 2006. Those guys have been firmly entrenched as part of the line that lets Drew Brees throw the ball like he does.

He was one of the other DII guys I talked about. I actually met him when I went to Bloom on a visit. I realized I had no chance of playing there with a guy like him and their other OL showing me around the campus(they were a top 4 team going into the season that year).

I saw him plenty as he is in the same conference as Kutztown, guy was a monster. The funny thing was that when I went to Millersville(another team in our conference) they said they had the best OL in the conference and I looked at the coach and mentioned Bloom and Evans and he just looked at me and said, "Those guys are way to slow." I think I'm gonna call my dad in the morning and remind him of this, he always gets a kick out of how coaches responded to questions and he followed Evans, Ricardo Colclough, and Leonard Weaver. He always gives me updates on the trio. As much as I love DII football...my father loves it that much more, haha.

Dustin Keller, TE, New York Jets

Rookie out of Perdue, just recently started getting into the offense. Favre has said that "he wished he had Keller for 10+ years, he is easily the best TE he has ever played with". Thats alot of credit given to a rookie.

Beast of a guy, he will (IMO, non biased) be labeled as the best TE in the game in 3 years. Over Gates, over Witten, over Winslow.
i realize this is a thread that will have a lot of homer picks, but what?

Leonard Weaver knocked Bradie James on his ass on the thanksgiving day game. Proabably the highlight of the game for the hawks.

Dominic Raiola is possibly the worst starting center ever for the worst team in NFL history. He is from Hawaii and went to college at Nebraska where he was supposedly dominant. Dominic is known to Lions fans by his inability to block screen passes and being severely small for size for an offensive lineman.

gates is washed up. sorry but if he hasnt been able to walk for like 2 seasons bc his toe is mangled. pretty unlikely he returns to form.

winslow is somehow in worse shape. i think hes had 3 surgeries on that knee after he destroyed every ligament and all cartilage. the initial reconstruction and then even microfracture. throw in a scope or mebbe more too. he says he is constantly in pain and can hardly walk up stairs. he said this in the offseason.

witten will be very hard to overcome tho.

Umm I'm pretty sure they're referring to the sticky thread about the modern draft. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think its that and not the 12 to 7 thing.

Ravens nose tackle Haloti Ngata is one of the most agile 340 pounders in the league. He is an excellent run stopper and can also drop into pass coverage.

Miami Dolphins WR Davone Bess.

Undrafted out of Hawaii.

Bess lost his scholarship to Oregon State when he was sentenced to 15 months in a juvenile facility after allowing a friend to put stolen items in his car. During his time in the juvenile facility, Bess played in a seven man flag football team created by the facility. During a game against another seven man flag football team, Bess did exceptionally well and caught the eye of a Hawaii recruiter in the stands and was given a four year scholarship.

Now that Camarillo is out (keep an eye on him also), Bess has been getting the start and has done well - 11 Rec 171 yards. He has 30 Rec and 359 yards on the year. He also returns kicks with Ginn

When I started this thread, I wasn't exactly envisioning guys drafted high in the first round.

Ngata is nasty though, I especially enjoy when he drop back into coverage and essentially becomes the worlds biggest linebacker.

I am one of those rare NFL fans that refuses to read about, listen to or watch the NFL draft. As a result I do not have any preconceived ideas about most players expectations as a result of their draft position.

On a defense with players such as Ray Lewis, Ed Reed and Terrell Suggs a player like Ngata is often overlooked by the casual fan.

David Harris. MLB, New York Jets. Was so good that the Jets traded away DROY and one-time league leading tackler Jon Vilma.

no the jets traded vilma b/c mangini decided to change the defense at the expense of his best defensive player rendering vilma useless in a 3-4, but nice try

and david harris is really good

Kevin Walter on the Texans is one of the best White receivers in the league. I think a lot of it is due to having AJ on the other side, Owen Daniels at TE, and a good running game but the guy is big and physical and doesn't seem to drop many passes.

Solid, White receiver.

Also, as an Aggies homer, OP for for starting this thread off with Bullitt.

Does he still wear those sweet goggles? I can't tell from the picture and haven't watched the Saints much this year.

gates- 2 seasons? it's almost been one and he started training/playing before he was even close to being fully healthy. despite that, he has been well above average this season-- how does that make him washed up?

winslow just happened to be in the sentence. he's one of the most talented te's, but he isn't one of the best

i agree about witten
