Antonio Gates

Yeah, lol TE and stuff, but I'm not that enthused with the crop of wide receivers left and think Gates makes just as big an impact on the game. He's one of the best receiving tight ends ever, and has an explosiveness that few other tight ends have. He was essentially the #1 receiver on the Chargers for a few years (and probably is again this year) and put up the type of numbers that #1 receivers do. I also think that defenses will be weak against TEs in general in this draft, as I think a lot of teams will be using replacement level LBs/safeties. Gates is an unorthodox way to start my offense, but he's a pretty unique skillset and will give my crappy QB a nice safety valve.

NBA:
PF/C Tim Duncan
SG Tyreke Evans

MLB:
2B Chase Utley
SP Francisco Liriano

NFL:
TE Antonio Gates
DT Albert Haynesworth

Ok me and Pudge select

Spoiler:
Justin Upton

Only a quick writeup as I've gotta go.

2nd and 3rd in the NL defensive WAR the last two, Upton also ranks in the top 5 the last two years in a number of defensive metrics. He also has a very decent 5.2 & 3.8 WAR overall the last two years.

Team so far

MLB

1B - Pujols
3B- Longoria
RF - J. Upton
SP - Cole Hamels

NFL

B. Orakpo

NBA

B. Lopez

Alright, I guess I can get my pick in before I leave for the day.

Ichiro

Everyone knows who Ichiro is, and at 36, he's still chugging along, putting up his usual .300 batting average to go along with 40 stolen bases and gold glove caliber defense. While he prefers to play right field, I will be playing in him in center field as he did for the entire 2007 season, to maximize his positional value (not to mention I already have a right fielder in Choo). So, go Asian outfielders!

Team for now

Philip Rivers, QB
Larry Fitzgerald, WR

Hanley Ramirez, SS
Matt Cain, SP
Shin-Soo Choo, RF
Ichiro Suzuki, CF

If you want to have an all asian outfield. Ichiro is a good pick, otherwise not so much.

He's put up a higher WAR than your boy Justin Upton each of the last two years, plus he'll be playing a position with a lower replacement value now. Don't see how it can be a bad pick unless Upton is too

Ichiro's LD% has been slowly declining and he is going to be 37 next year.
Upton kept his peripherals the same is gonna be 23 next year and still had a season similarly good year to Ichiro while performing in like the bottom 25% of projection for his 2010 season.

ok well im gonna chill on football with a great qb and what looks to be an elite defense. i dont know sht about baseball, so it looks time to nba. conveniently, there is quite a bit of talent left out there.

one player seems to stand out.

parker has played in 3 all star games and was 3rd team all nba in 09. he was finals mvp in 07.

he was hampered by plantar fascittis last yr and his numbers were a bit down. the injury is easy to recover from and has no lasting effects. at only 28 he should be far from a decline.

parker uses his blazing speed, quickness and awareness to find himself perennially among the league leaders in points in the paint, a rarity for a guard. he is decently efficient, has good to numbers, and good assist numbers.

parker proved in 08 that he could carry the load adequately bc of injuries to duncan and ginobili. in other years has obv shown to be a great supporting player, able to step it up when needed.

parker and granger have complementary skillsets. parker can get in the lane with ease, while granger is a great spot up outside shooter. granger also has decent ability to slash. with both on the court, the defense will be in a lot of trouble if they collapse on one, yet both are able to destroy a spread out d.

nfl
qb: rodgers
ss: polamalu
olb: jerome harrison
nt: vince wilfork

nba
pg: tony parker
sf: danny granger

mlb

as a Spurs fan I'm not the most unbiased person in the world to talk about Tony Parker, but he's really underrated based on his injury last year, if he recovers the way he's supposed he'll still be better than a few pg's already picked

if he recovers hes better than curry and drose pretty easily. reke too if you consider him a pg.

def disagree, he came into last year with a big focus on conditioning/working hard, hes really turned the corner and is a damn good player. also hes a load and a half on the offensive boards as well as being a decent #1 option. if u gave him a great pg like boozer had his stats would be even better.

None of that matters, victor gonna victor.
maybe if lma could actually grab a rebound or not be a soft pussy he'd be as good as zbo, a ton of zbo's value is on the boards as hes one of the best rebounders in the league where as lma is one of the worst

meh goes back to how you think Yao will fare this season, LMA better complement than Zbo to Yao

I don't think this is true at all (both lma/yao love to play outside first) where as zbo can go inside and let yao stay outside but even if it was there are way better compliments to yao that were picked after lma/still undrafted
