Well, part 1 was uncensored anyway.

Have not listened yet, but I fully expect the cognitive dissonance of "must hate Simmons" and "must love CK" to cause a few heads to explode in this thread.

I thought the first half was pretty boring honesty, didn't listen to second half.

He's an INCREDIBLE writer. I emailed the link to everyone I know who doesn't care about online poker. I was through with online poker before BF, so I really didn't know much about the shutdown beyond the headlines. A great, great piece there.

He is a much better writer than he is a poker player. I also think the article does a nice job of spelling things out for people who aren't as deep in the poker scene as we may be.

I thought Simmons only talked to comedians who were involved with roasts or were Adam Carolla.

I'm excited to listen to this, but I'm a little disappointed that Louis is doing this podcast instead of one of the many great comedy-centric ones. Maybe it's a good sign, though, and he'll be on CBB or smth soon.

Louis Ck on JRE would be beyond epic.

Louis is trying to sell a comedy special, pretty obvious why he's on the BS Report.

He did a long one on wtf with Marc maron.

Agree with all three of those things.

Maron interview was really good. Not the best platform for hilariousness though. The guy's obv very busy doing everything for his show and creating a new hour of stand-up every year, so I don't blame him, but, as a guy who's way too into comedy podcasts, I wish he'd appear on some more.

Any recommendations?

Comedy Bang Bang is one of the funniest things ever.

The Long Shot, Doug Loves Movies, The Todd Glass Show, Who Charted?, ... all great stuff.

I don't listen to any of these besides Doug Loves Movies, but I don't see any reason for Louis CK to appear on these shows, and I'm not sure he would fit in with their aesthetic.

Also CK wouldn't appear on Doug Loves Movies unless the Leonard Maltin game includes films by Pasolini and Godard.

I'm not saying that it would be a big boost career-wise, I'm just saying that, as a fan, I wish he would.

Who is more famous between Simmons and Louis?
Sports Media Discussion (RIP ESPN) Quote

Louis by far.

Simmons doesn't have real fame. Just internet fame.

Each week Simmons probably has 3x as many podcast downloads as Louie has viewers

Plus Simmons had a NYT bestseller

No. Louie got ~2 million viewers a week.

Hell, Louie's probably even more Internet-famous.

I don't even think Louie knew who Simmons was (just was told 'hey you're going on a podcast of a sportswriter,' which might explain some of his seemingly forced sports references/analogies).
