Finally got around to finishing Anthony Bourdain's book, "Kitchen Confidential".

Only gripe - wish it was longer.

Highly recommended. Two thumbs up.

Needle is the closest you will get to that in this forum imo. He's a former football player turned coach who is probably your best bet for an in-depth conversation.

With that said, this forum is filled with arm-chair quarterbacks (myself included) if you're looking for some casual talk.

I was the starting halfback in our exclusively I-formation offense. The smallest and the fastest player on the team. My mom was horrified by the way I ran, seeking to truck everyone despite my tiny stature, and refused to sign the permission form after that one season. The coaches even tried me at fullback for a game, because, as the head coach put it, I was the only back who wasn't a pussy. That was the first time I'd heard that word. For several years after that, I would continue to assume it was just an alternate form of "wussy" without also being a body part.

We lost every game.

Played flag football when I was like 6. My mouth guard was too big causing me to puke on the ball right before I snapped it.

That was my last year of football.
