When I was in college I coached freshmen flag football teams for a few years there. I decided to step away from it my last year and left the gig to someone else. One Friday afternoon, they were looking for upperclassmen to scrimmage, so I volunteered. While they were running offense, some of my other friends who were drinking walked by our game, stopped to chat for a second, and offered me a beer. I accepted.

As the next play starts-- I'm playing free safety-- someone yells "Nath, you should put the beer down," to which I reply, "No, I'm good," knowing full well they're going to challenge me this play. So I start running back as soon as the ball is snapped, they of course go deep, and... I go up and intercept the pass with my free hand, without spilling any beer.

Ah, to be young again.

nah I too adhere, at least now, to the mantra of we're not here to walk and ill swing away even if the pitcher can't come close cause obv it's softball and you can adjust

but i really hated that other team and 21yo angsty karak wanted a win pretty bad, so i did what had to be done
