Got a kitten last year since we had an unexpected death and the young cat was bugging out without a buddy. Owners swore it wasn't a main **** lololololol. Cat is awesome thought so it was a win win.

But if you tell me you're SO ALLERGIC TO CATS that you just CANNOT COME OVER unless the cat is locked in a room and everything is cleaned, and it turns out that you were just trying to avoid having the sniffles, then you better believe I give no ****s about your "allergy" and hope my cat climbs all over your allergy-exaggeratin' ass before peeing in your shoes.
People lying about allergies or flat out making up allergies due to diets or preferences foodwise is definitely a huge issue and those people should all feel bad.

I'm inbetween what you described. I have not needed to go to the hospital bc of my allergies since I was a little kid, but I will get puffy red eyes and have noticeable wheezing very quickly due to cats. If I know someone has a cat I usually pop a benadryl an hour before heading over and take another with me and then make sure I head outside to clear my breathing up for like 10 min or so every hour. If its a dog and I plan to drink then I just bring my inhaler and make sure to get outside a little bit. Some dogs don't require anything beyond an inhaler while some require that plus benadryl and time outside for fresh air.

Benadryl and an inhaler (for my genetically deficient asthma condition) both help, but do not eliminate the problem. The issue with benadryl is that you don't really want to mix it with alcohol and since I don't need an inhaler in my daily life outside of when around animals or if I am otherwise sick I don't always carry it.

That Savannah Cat seems awesome though. If I was getting a cat that would definitely be the kind I would want.

That's pretty much my only qualification for a pet. Looks cute or funny and makes me laugh when they go about their daily life. Probably gonna get a Corgi.

One source of endless amusement is the pairing of a dog and a cat in the same household. It's a lot like the premise of the bad poster draft - draft posters, put them in a forum, and see what hilarious nonsense ensues - except not depressing. Particular favorites are watching huge dogs let tiny cats have the entire dog bed, and watching cats E. Honda dogs in the face for no reason.

Munchkin cats are pretty sweet. I got pugs as the coolest small dog, even though I've heard they're really filthy when compared to other dogs for whatever reason.

Pugs are an abortion of a dog breed. It looks they are always struggling to breathe. No idea how they became popular.

They are struggling to breathe because humans bred them for missing snouts.

Then as the party wound down they let the dogs out of whatever room they were in and one jumped on me. Being out of town and not having any benadryl (my fault) I ended up coughing the entire night.
You're totally justified in shooting the dog if that happens.

Have had a Dalmatian, Beagle and Jack Russell Terrier. Dalmatian was awesome but I am aware that he was an unusually chill one; most are high strung. Beagle was hilarious and very chill; downside is the howling thing, which never bothered me but some people are sensitive to it. Jack Russell was hilarious and the least chill creature I've ever been around. Terriers do not chill. Terriers cannot chill. Terriers have 3 speeds: 1. Full, 2. Alseep, and 3. Dead. That's it. Would be godawful in an apartment or for a busy person who needs some peace and quiet.

Chihuahuas are the worst fwiw. Have never met one (sample size seven, I think) that didn't incessantly yap at me or try to bite my fingers off.
