Unfortunately the football threads are populated by a number of north Americans, and moderated by exclusively north americans, who do not understand the niceties of the game, and therefore jump on everything 'controversial'. It is no coincidence whatsoever, that every poster who complains about my responses to their posts (except the OAF) is American.
Proper sensible moderation was asked for last year, instead we got more of the same. gg, wp, nh.
I do think there should have been a U.K.'er set as mod. 1. It would lessen Seth's load; 2. It would provide the balance you request.
Nothing wrong with 72 or Seth at all. I think more deference should be given to the U.K. posters ... after all, it is their game and we are visitors (generally speaking).
I appreciate that a lot of your so-called antics lately are borne of frustration that seems to stem from the fact that N. American-based Arsenal fans seem to get preferential treatment in the thread. I am not entirely in agreement with you, but I do recognize a lot of their (our) posts are of little substance and are more homerism-type posts. Well, big deal. The thread is big enough for one-eyed fans, homers, cynics, pundits, experts, whatever ... even pissed off Bolton fans
.
I think most are tuning it out when the arguments you make have more attack in them than substance. Personally, I don't care about all that, I find you very entertaining and knowlegable about a sport that I am intersted in learning more about ... such would also include the culture and viewpoints of those actually attending the matches and talking it up with the man on the street. I find that valuable and I would like you to keep contributing to the forum.
