nice weather, lots of beer, elite gambling sport, choosing your own pace, location, and who to watch, and hot wife watching all good reasons to go tho.

Tour Championship last year is in the top 10 sporting events I have ever been to.

environment at a college basketball game is infinitely better than an NBA game. I would say the 10th percentile college games I have attended is as good as the 80th percentile of NBA games from an entertainment standpoint.

you seem to not understand the argument. It is about going to the games. Tough to enjoy a game as much when half of the people in the premium seats are on their phone more than watching the game.

nba could skip 90% of their games, everyone knows before the season which 5 teams have a >0 chance to win

I find it to have a vastly more exciting postseason format.

In Chicago, people were barely excited for a Bulls/Nets game 7 because they according to betting lines had like 5% equity to win their next series and like .1% championship equity.

I actually get a tangible benefit when Pitt and Indiana wins. Not so when any other team I root for wins. Which makes NCAAB and NCAAF the GOATs

This is the main argument against NBA, which is an otherwise great product.

Sucks that there is minimal excitement for so many teams. It's why you end up with so many NBA fans, and many less passionate homers.

agree. In the preseason they should spearate the league into two divisions: the playoff division and the lottery diviseon.

The playoff division can be the best 4 teams in the East and the best 4 in the West. Go to an 81 game season and have them all matter. Play each team in your conference 15 times and each team in the other conference 9 times. Best two teams in each conference make the playoffs which are best of 11 and best of 21 (mercy rule applies if teams get up more than 4 and 6 games in those respective series at which point the loser is automatically relegated the next year).

Lottery division would be whatever the **** they want because it won't matter.

and the fact that players and coaches quit trying to win or comeback quite a bit. If you don't think this actually happens then idk what to tell you since it was pretty evident last night when Manu was dunking in the 4th quarter with no one around him.

Went to the final day of the US Open at Congressional (tournament Rory won). This wasn't my experience at all. Crowds were easily navigable, got to see lots of golfers up close and I watched Rory sink the final putt from the middle of the 18th fairway. It's not like we were sprinting around and muscling our way through crowds either... I was with my late 60s dad who needed to rest pretty often in the heat.

Was def one of my best live sporting experiences ever. I'm not even a huge golf fan.

The NBA should adopt a new strategy.

12 team league. Every game is nationally televised. They would absolutely crush under this format imo.

Way more than any other sport, people are fans of "The NBA" rather than fans of a specific NBA franchise.

nba is near impossible to get better too unless you are a major market or stern rigs the lottery for you in a big impact draft. bobcats have no chance to be competitive in the next ten years

What NBA games have you been to? Please don't tell me Hawks games is what you're basing this on.

well, I live in ATL so yes it is. I only go to playoff games or games where they have a compelling opponent though and they're still bad.

tier 0: World Cup
tier 1: NFL, EPL, CL

With a bunch of stuff I genuinely enjoy but wouldn't enjoy sorting in tiers 2-3. NCAAF probably slips into tier 1.5, actually. Just a lot of great sports and events out there.

I've been to 1 full world cup game, and it was impressionable enough that it's basically my first sporting event memory (USA v Switzerland in the silverdome), plus 3 WCQs.
