Depends more on how much of an alcoholic your are than the person really.

People who drink a ton can get higher numbers while maintaining more control.

There was a woman who caused a drunk driving accident at .45 I think in a city near mine. Medical professionals couldn't believe she could even start the car, much less drive it into another car.

Yea, depending on person = how much that person abuses alcohol.

Always felt like "drunkenness" has more to do with focus/mindfulness relative to actual BAC than a lot of people think. (Obviously there's a link between loss of focus and a ton of alcohol consumption.)

On ADHD meds, could drink an absolute ****ton and still be coherent and functional. otoh, barring chemical intervention or just doing something unusually interesting, it's extremely tough for me to stay mentally "with it" a certain length of time past my first few drinks (5 hours or so?) relatively independent of how much alcohol I actually consume past the initial stage. At some point, the mental fatigue just kicks in.

Pretty sure I spent most of 2008 or so at a .20 or higher and functioned disturbingly well for much of it. Had built up a pretty large tolerance to alcohol. Not a brag.

"Malone had family in the Eutaw area and had hunted there before, according to news accounts. '

Is that a new way to spell Utah?

On a related note, I was thinking about getting those home breathalyzers just for the lulz. Anyone have any suggestions on good ones?

I was looking at these ones:

or

The keychain ones seem like a good and convenient idea, but probably don't work as well (from just looking at the ratings)

Before I forget, having a BAC anywhere close to the legal limit and operating guns is LOL BAD.

Heads up bros, it's that time of year again where ESPN tries to charge you 50 bucks for insider access even though you still have multiple years left on your $3/year magazine subscription. Don't let them **** you over

How do you access payment settings on ESPN? Don't tell me I'll have to call them!

No clue. The only credit card they have for me is expired, so I'm out of their reach, but I noticed the email and thought I should warn those of you with an active card. I sent them an email to permanently opt me out because I couldn't find the opt out button either, given their track record I'd give it a 25% chance of success

I had it auto debiting from Paypal like a ******. Luckily, Paypal is awesome and allows you to easily cancel such agreements, where I think ESPN would have required me to visit the home office and fill out a form to cancel the 8 bucks a month

Is there any good reason why breathalyzer ignition lock thing is not required by law for all cars? I mean wouldn't that make some sense? Obviously tons of people are more than capable of driving just fine at higher bac than. 08 but when you weigh the drawbacks with the advantages it seems like it would save tons of lives

I think I'm leaning towards this one:

http://www.amazon.com/BACtrack-BT-S7..._tr_15992781_6

S75 Pro or S80 Pro seem like good bets. (after reading the reviews)

It's pretty expensive. In Michigan, I know it costs ~$200 to install and another ~$100 monthly to maintain. Do you really think that people should be forced to pay that every month to operate a car even when there's no indication that they drink and drive?

Definitely no. With that said, I'm not anti the idea. Think it's a little much but after living in Myrtle Beach...well...that place was ****ing insane after 8pm on Fridays/Saturdays in the summer with the amount of drunk drivers. Scary as ****.

Yeah, if interlock wasn't so cost prohibitive I don't think it would be the worst thing in the world to mandate and I tend to lean libertarian with stuff like that. As of now it's just too damned pricey, although it's mandatory for first-time DUI offenders in AZ.

The well-documented obsession that LEO in this area have with "DUI dollars" seems to have gone a really long way towards getting drunks off the road anyway. Can't remember the last time I was driving and saw someone that I could tell was inebriated. Possibly years. Cops are relegated to checkpoints and pulling people over coming out of bars to get their quotas.
