any ideas on my 2 dish pairing? i was gonna do a appetizer/vegetable or appetizer/dessert but can't decide.

also i hate white wine but i guess you have to drink that **** w/ fish don't you
liquor tho. also, how did you get stuck with dessert? i assume you guys are cooking in the same kitchen? hope you have a bunch of different cooking supplies.

I'm not creative enough to come up with an app that goes well with a meal like that and salad seems like a copout and nothing with meat makes a lot of sense in that pairing. maybe just some kind of pita and homeade salsa dip or a mozzerela and tomato salad. **** dessert though. Baking sucks and everything else is a copout for sure.

I'm pretty sure he doesn't plan on needing to watch a game 6 to win a title.

imo "bye-opp-ic" is the intuitive pronunciation, but pretty sure since the actual word comes from/is "bio" "pic" that's the right way to say it.

so when you see "bio" used as an abbreviation of biography, you guys say "bi-ah"? mind blown.

no i'd say "bio" like in biology

i guess biopic is a word ive never said outloud, and ive always mispronounced it in my head

perhaps it's the fault of "myopic"

It's clearly bio-pic. It's not like myopic at all since it's a portmanteau. Seems like one of those dumb words that should never be used because I don't see how using biography instead would never be clear in a conversation.

"I saw this great biography..." seems like 99% of the time how the conversation would start.

well yeah obv myopic is different, but just guessing that's what may have led to me mispronouncing "biopic"

"Biography" and "biographical" are pronounced differently. "Biopic" is an abbreviated compound of "biographical picture."

interesting. not knowing what the word meant I would have said bi-ah-pic but looking up the definition i'd say bi-oh-pic.

I've never said that word, but I would pronounce it bi-ah-pic.

I am open to being convinced otherwise as this one isn't like jiff and could go a few different directions.

i've never been to houston, but you notice that that is ringed by two interstates - i bet the issue is the walkability. it looks like everything is close but is actually far away, like what happens in vegas.

In a way it is like jiff because of what it stands for.

Ya I guess the same search in downtown San Diego turns up twice as many results with most being concentrated in a little tighter area...Houston still doesn't look "awful" based on those results tho.

Well according to Turn Prophet you CAN get a woman to NBA. Her reaction to him turning on bball may be a qualifier for a second date.

i think im jut gonna do some asparagus and brocollini sauteed. i think i'll do a dessert for the second, but obviously not baking. i think maybe just like do something w/ fruit?

@ karak / others, why are law school chicks bad? i haven't had any experience with them yet. i'm guessing the combination of insanity/never free/clingy/mountains of debt? luckily she's at a law school far away from where i live in medford, so not that scared of being turned into a leather bag.

@ bobbo, i told her i would be watching bball no matter what, but she insisted on doing something. so i suggested this as a compromise.

You're combining the argumentative and know-it-all parts of a woman with the argumentative and know-it-all parts of a law student.

What I loved about San Francisco was that you could just walk literally all over the city and have dozens of bars or restaurants to choose from. What a great place to visit. Though my lips got chapped as **** from all the wind.

Houston's just very spread out and there are very few walkable parts of the city. It's really a mixed up cluttered mess of cultures. But not really a spot you can plant yourself at all day and hang out in a small area.

And the yuppie culture here is strong. Everywhere you go you'll see douches trying to pretend they have a lot of money. Lot of yuppies here and then a lot of poor artsy types. We don't have a lot of the in-between types or the frat bro culture.

mburke, make a dessert pizza

you'll need:
- one of those pillsbury cookie rolls (sugar cookie obv)
- block of cream cheese
- confectioners (powdered) sugar
- vanilla
- fruit

roll the dough out flat and thin like a pizza. mix cream cheese with sugar and a little vanilla for flavoring. cut up the fruit.

bake the cookie/pizza, doesnt take long. spread icing and put fruit on top.

you can make it with her. feed eachother fruit and makeout and ****. EZ game.
