Did I ever tell you guys that I had a rock climbing partner for 4 years without realizing he was gay? And, like, really gay, too. That gaydar thing--I don't has it. Also, he was Israeli and jewish. I agree with you btw. But I don't think it has much to do with SE posters being...like...more mature or something. I think it's that we're a close-knit group whose common bond is something lighthearted (sports) and so we don't take things THAT seriously. Even serious issues. I don't even get that RUSTLED when Riverman makes fun of my religious or political beliefs. Mostly because as a sports poster, I like him. But if I ever ventured into politards I would - wait..I would never do that. That sounds like the worst idea ever.

I would tend to attribute the good discussions to this forum mostly consisting of educated and intellectually capable posters who tend toward openmindedness.
