dunno why i dont like mouzone. just rubbed me the wrong way. like he was some sort of unrealistic super hero type. seemed out of place on the show.

ziggy, otoh, some dumb semi-coddled wannabe gangsta seemed perfect.
while i fully agree he is a well constructed, believable character-- i completely hate him. i just can't watch shows where characters are given a million chances and make terrible decisions. i get so ****ing mad. it's not like a little thing here or there, it's like terrible life or death decisions over and over again. i can't help but just hate characters like that, especially when his actions have such consequences for his cousin and uncle. also, they never really give much backstory into why he is how he is-- it's possible that would have helped.

on the other hand i think mouzzone is incredible for all the reasons already mentioned.

do i respect that ziggy is a "more believable" character? sure. does it change my viewpoint watching the show? not really, i still just want ziggy to be no where near the show and more of mouzzone.

based on basically nothing i would say ziggy is one of the principle reasons s2 is regarded as the worst

He's just too smart for that, and there's nothing in the show to suggest that the cycle is going to repeat itself or anything, or that he's lost the one thing he really cared about.
lol @ comparing stringer to marlo, marlo proved himself smarter and harder many times over, lololds

the game is the game, there will be new crowns

marlo is no longer in the game, i don't see the emptiness behind his final scene that should be there if it was your way. more a joie di vive bro

the principle reason is that the street characters lose screen time. street had all of the GOATs

really? the beginning is slow, but eventually the frank sobotka character really shines through. i thought s5 was the worst (not to say it was bad, though).

Banning the sport where men in spandex wrestle around with each other on a big mattress is a huge huge blow to heterosexuality and masculinity!

The point of Marlo's final scene is that he can't walk away from the game as he knows it. He can't give up the street to become a legitimate businessman. When Marlo kills prop Joe, Joe offers to leave Baltimore and never come back. Marlo says something like, "you know you'd be right back here in a month." That's Marlo. He'll be in jail within a year, but he can't help himself.

I don't think s2 is generally regarded as the worst by people who have seen the show multiple times.

Pretty sure far more hardcore viewers regard s2 as above series average than below.

i dunno, it seems pretty obv why he is how he is. hes been a ****up his whole life and hasnt had much accountability bc hes been protected and taken care of by his respected family. everyone loves and respects his dad and uncle and tolerates him only bc of this. he wants to make a name for himself and prove to everyone, not the least of whom his father, that he can be competent, useful, smart and enterprising.

also, there are undertones that while he father provided and gave as much attention as he could to ziggy, it wasnt enough due to how overwhelming his role on the docks was.

Yeah. Season 2 and characters that aren't on the street definitely get underrated by casual fan. Omar=Kobe. Really f'ing good, but still overrated.

yeah i don't get the hate on s2. really liked sobotka, he's totally crooked but he does it for the best interests of the union/his workers instead of lining his own pockets. nice little conflict.

Season 2 was weak, but did feature Nick's girlfriends tits. So there's that.
