Maybe some wouldn't, but that doesn't actually change anything. It seems to me like 18 years old is the bright line for sexual activity; I don't see that there's anything about high school (other than an ick factor) that changes the calculus criminally. Do you think a college professor should be spending 5 years in jail for boning an 18 year old freshman?

Given that the "lol prison" is already apparently controversial I'm sure this will be unpopular, but honestly, I don't even see anything inherently immoral in teachers sleeping with students who've reached majority. It is obviously a relationship with a lot of potential for abuse, and it's a cover your ass nightmare for schools, but I can at least imagine relationships of this sort that are perfectly fine. Maybe you can make an argument a la negligence where these sorts of things sour so easily and predictably that it's wrong to engage, but I feel like that's a little more nuanced than people usually are in these discussions.
