Richard, you may be underestimating variance in golf. These guys are good but it's still not uncommon for them to hook one into the trees or come up short and dunk one in the water with just a few holes to play (or in the playoff). It's pretty exciting - especially if you've watched every round from Thursday onward.

You watch poker tournies, right? It's pretty similar. Incremental increases that build to one guy left standing. Once it gets to the final table you have a pretty good idea who the top 3 finishers should be, pending some blowup. Golf is similar but when you watch it a lot you can appreciate the minor blowups.

RT: Watching golf on TV has become 100 times more enjoyable to watch once I started to play regularly and started taking the game seriously.

You can see yourself taking THAT shot, and seeing how you would play it and what club you would use. Seeing them use a 7 iron for a 200 yard par 3 is a little intimidating (since mine goes 150 yards), but yea, you get the point.

I'm shocked that people who don't like a sport don't enjoy watching it on TV.

Yeah, golf and tennis are both elite sports to watch on TV. Both will feature meltdowns, both will feature clutch shots, and both can give amazing heads-up action (obviously tennis more so.)

This may be part of it. I've never tried watching an entire golf tournament from the opening round to Sunday. Maybe I'd have a different take if I did.

Sergio Garcia is like back when poker tournies were 4 days long and some guy would be in the lead pretty much from the start by playing solid poker and bluffing and intimidating with his pristine play, creativity, and slurs, then blowing it all on the final table by mistakenly playing the 72 offsuit game without realizing nobody else was playing that and this wasn't a cash game anyway. Basically he's Amir Vahedi in 2003.

So many amazing golf TV moments, but I'm going with Tiger's chip in on 16 at Augusta. IN YOUR LIFE

If I had to choose one chocolate-based candy I could have for the rest of my life it's Peanut Butter M&M's hands down.

So many people opt for peanut and plain when they put out snack trays. Those special individuals who eschew peanut for the far superior peanut butter stand out in my book.
