Okay been around other threads and i am just putting this out there.

Mods if this is the wrong place - apologies, just trying something new to combine my two greatest pasttimes Poker and Lax.

I am involved with a Lax club in Perth Western Australia and we are looking for College students who finish college in May to come out and play for us. for our 2010 season.

We have two mens and two womens spots available.

I gather that given most people hanging around here seem to be 22ish that maybe this is better than some Lax forum but it is also on there as well.

If you want more info please PM me.

Cheers

why are American lacrosse players such douches? Being from Australia you're probably not equipped to answer that, but I figured I'd pose the question.

Lax in the States is a very preppy sport...that's probably why. Canadian box lax players are basically just passing time in the hockey offseason so they're pretty chill.

Good to see the game is strong in Australia.

I am more than happy to get Canadians out - they hold their drink better. Yanks just dont deal with the full strength aussie beer that well. Lets face it, it aint how you play that matters its the performance in the clubrooms after that counts.

But re the question no i can not answer that.

it is going okay out here. We are a growing club. but the competition around us is stuggling.

it is a very minor sport out her. we have six clubs in Perth. most have three senior teams, U17, U15 2x U13s and U10s is basically a modcrosse version no bumping no helmets and stuff.

but it is all field despite my attempts to get a box venue this year. nothing available.

but the tourists help out heaps cause we get them recruiting, coaching, partying and the like makes a huge difference to our culture when we have guests in the club.

cheers and thanks for the replies even thought they dont really help...lol.

George Carlin said it best;

As to the disparaging remark regarding weak Yank beers, I invite you to try many of the hop and ABV bombs produced by our exceptional smaller brewers. They will stand up to anything produced in the Southern Hemisphere.
