I also think Real Madrid should pay up for him. They could derive value even if they only get 10-15 games out of him, good chance of pushing them over the top rather than finishing 1-5 pts out of first.

Then again Real could've just kept Morata but you know ....

Sturridge's number are just scary good. Since arriving at Liverpool he has scored every 120 minutes on average and gets a scorepoint every 90 minutes. Jesus.

Considering Bournemouth just paid 10m for a Championship striker, 25 still seems low to me for a player like Sturridge.

I agree to an extent, but its not a fair comparison, Afobe is 4 years younger and requires 50-100k weekly less wage

Balague and some other spanish media outlets reporting that United have sent a delegation (the three amigos hopefully) to Atletico to negotiate for Saul Niguez. He any good?

Not really, but he's still young. He's a Simeone type in that he has all the physical attributes and can do almost everything. He's a strong two-way guy that can defend and attack. He can win challenges and headers and score goals.

He plays every week after Tiago got injured, but his passing is weak and sometimes it looks like the game is still too fast for him mentally. He played a bit as defensive midfielder but his distribution wasnt good enough for it, but he's done pretty well as a box-to-box guy lately. He was also a pretty good centreback at Rayo a couple years ago.

He sounds perfect for LvG's doghouse.

Edit: Scratch that, he sounds perfect for playing ahead of LvG's doghouse (Herrera and Schneiderlin).

However, Sturridge is a great player. And his celebration alone is worth 25mil +/-

So we signed another guy from France, this time it's Henri Saivet. Honestly all I know about him is that he was absolutely ridiculous on FM 5-6 years ago, I'm starting to think that all this scouting we're apparently doing is Ashley sitting around playing old FMs in board meetings.

Jonjo would be an interesting signing for Newcastle. Pretty sure it will happen esp after what Curtis said the other day.

A mediocre player with past attitude problems like Shelvey seems like the last thing Newcastle need right now.

Meh I think £12m for Shelvey is decent business all round. Toon get a fairly solid English player for decent money, Swanz get decent money for a guy not in their team, and Shelvey probably get a pay rise and a move to a "bigger club".

Just need Toon to find £14m for Andros.

For some reason the transfer committee seems to want to take Caulker off our/QPR's hands. Not really sure what's happening, but I like it.

All the Southampton fans seem to want him. Fortunately, Watford seems a more likely destination. £14m may be a little steep though.

How did Caulker become so highly rated? He's been part of some pretty terrible PL defences in his time.

I have no idea what you mean, his never-say-die attitude and professionalism will serve Newcastle well.
