Exactly. Every goal we have conceded this season (and a good few from last season) has come from wide areas, aside from the penalty v Stoke.

You could have plonked Wanyama, Capoue, Sandra and Makelele on the pitch after we scored yesterday and they wouldn't have prevented Leicester's equalizer.

I thought I would never experience the feeling of wanting Danny Rose to come back into the team.

I think Dier has played pretty well but his defensive instincts are to backpedal and shepherd, which can be ok for back four but as a DM he gives up too much space. It's a bummer because I root for him, Spurs are soft and he isn't. Mason's another guy who I root for but at the end of the day I don't think he's skilled enough. I also worry about him, he looks starving, addicted, like the SLOTH guy in se7en after two months/twelve polaroids.

Chadli plays badly and I would bench him gladly for boo radley or even michael bradley, and I'm still comfy being anti-Rose. Last year he was better but imo it was a glitch in the matrix and he still made terrible decisions/services like seven times out of nine and the majority of his flashy defensive plays are recovering from bad positions that should never have happened in the first place. I prefer Rose over Davies just because our current counter of Dembele dribbling or Toby hoofing is not enough, but at least Davies is responsible, which has helped Vert, who has needed it. I also have no idea what's happening with Bentaleb but if he's still being punished for the United goal then I approve. And I'm fine with paying for Wanyama, it's because we're weak and he's strong, we have no spine or fulcrum which makes Poch's system fall apart.

or they could always just FREE VELJKOVIC

Dier is killing us. Not his fault. I blame Poch. He is not a midfielder. Way too slow and unimaginative on the ball. I think he just likes the idea of being able to pass backwards now. Before there was only one guy behind him to pass to, now he turns and sees not one but FIVE and gets super excited. He also looks like he runs in slow motion. Idk what the deal with Bentaleb is, but we are better off playing him and seeing what happens, cuz we already know what will happen with this setup.

And can we get some N'Jie next week for the love of god?

Davies is responsible?!? Wtf was he doing for the Leicester goal yesterday?

Has Davies even had a good performance in a Spurs shirt? And before you say "Sample size bro" he has played like Justin Edinburgh in every match he's played for us.

HH, I'd rather have Rose right now bc of speed/width but Davies was totally decent vs united and stoke and got a great assist on the second stoke goal in exactly the kind of play that Rose always ****s up. Agree that Davies hasn't had many v good games but he also hasn't had many v bad ones and after our obscene defensive collapse last year I'm fine with lower variance. To the thread topic I'm def looking forward to seeing Wimmer and Trippier, but I'm thinking none of the current defense rotation gets one second of playing time on opening day of the new stadium. (Granted that's a long time but my point is just that none of current guys seem like huge assets.)

I agree with all veiws on Dier. He has played much, much better than i expected him to as a DM - played very well v Stoke - but... yeah we really need a proper CM in there.

The Bentaleb thing is just weird, and smacks of a falling out after the MU game. Considering how much game time he and Mason had together last season, while never really letting us down, it should have been a no brainer to pair them up this season.

Davies is just ok. he is very much a 6/10 every week, and if he can raise his game slightly i doubt any team would mind full backs who are consistent 7/10 performers. It's just a battle between him and Rose whether he can raise his mean faster than Rose can reduce his standard deviation.

I'm looking forward to seeing all our summer signings given a run out in the Europa league, together with Pritchard and 1-2 others. I wish we had to play the qualifying rounds this year - it would be a welcome distraction from the league performances.....

Probably going to go through phases of if we don't qualify for the CL or in danger of it well spend. If not happy days. As soon as those shirt, sponsorship deals are in jeopardy of losing massive chunks of money it'll be beneficial to the glazers to spend ala last year.

Neymar is open to moving to Manchester United from Barcelona, though there is a recognition the transfer is unlikely to occur before the current window closes.

United are attempting to land the Brazilian before 1 September but there is a long-term strategy to pursue him, with the club believing the transfer may be more likely next summer.

Luis Enrique refused to comment on speculation surrounding the forward’s future after Barcelona began their La Liga title defence with a 1-0 victory at Athletic Bilbao.

Barça manager Enrique said at his post-match press conference: “It doesn’t interest me to talk about rumours, nor these types of situations.”

Neymar has three years left on his contract. He is an integral member of the Barcelona team that won the Champions League, La Liga and Copa del Rey treble last season. Yet United are clear they could prise him from the Spanish club. The 23-year-old would consider joining, according to sources close to the forward.

Jamie Jackson is a hack. This is starting to sound a bit more like new contract time for Neymar than just purely made up from thin air though.

I would seriously question not only their competence, but their overall sanity, if LvG and Woody actually thought they could sign Neymar, and with one week to go in the window no less. This is either pure fabrication or Neymar's people are starting contract negotiations with Barca and have leaked this.
