Im surprised Chelsea or Man City did not throw a ton of money at Liverpool for Suarez.

Pretty thankful hes gone to Spain tbh.

2 more than you let's not get into a my dad's bigger than yours though.

In all seriousness though it's a blow to lose Suarez from the PL but great from my POV that he's left Pool but pool are a good team but will be majorly hampered next season (ldo) will be interesting to see if Sturidge and Sterling continue on from last season and dropping Gerrard going to be interesting.

I'm pretty sure he could have gotten one of the newly rich EPLÖL midtable-clubs to overpay him (shirts) like they are doing with everyone right now.

well bayern are still denying this, and it kinda doesnt make sense either. Career suicide for Navas and Bayern drop 10 mil on a player they dont really need?

sky saying the fee was 64.3 mil for Suarez. Thought it would be more but maybe the ban helped them get better value.

BBC reporting £75mil as well. I mean honestly the extra 10mil isnt even that significant when you are talking about a player of his quality. There is virtually no amount of money under 500mil id have been happy with.

I'd love to see Pool make a run at ADM if he's truly available. What a beast.

+1

What a player. Really wish we could've had the chance to see last year's squad in the Champions League. It'll still be great to be back, and we have FSG's stubbornness to thank, but it sucks that we'll never see Suarez grace that competition in a Liverpool shirt. The only silver lining is that we won't have to watch him do that stupid thing where he throws himself to the ground screaming and flailing his arm in the air like a teacher's pet frantically raising his hand in class.

Guillem Balagué came on SSN and broke down the figures which they decided to run with. I know you guys don't think much of him but could he really be dumb enough to make something like this up?

It's going to be the worst £75m ever spent when he bites Pepe in his first El Classico.

-Congrats to Arsenal on the Sanchez business. Very nice addition, and I would've loved to have him at Liverpool.
-That said, Wenger still needs to find a tactical answer to the thrashings they absorbed last season. Nothing Alexis Sanchez does on a football pitch would've been enough to stop that beat down at Anfield for example. This was a squad with the talent to play dynamic attacking footy before Sanchez was even a twinkle in Wenger's eye. Winning the league is also about tactics and execution, and without improvements on those fronts there will be no serious contention next year. A few extra pretty Özil-to-Sanchez goals against Sunderland wasn't what this team was missing.
-Not terribly interested in dropping £20m on Bony. I'm sure there will come a point in the season where I'll be glad to own him, but that's not a piece if business that excites me in the slightest.
-If we're going to buy another guy in that £20m range (is it just me or is £20m become the default price tag for anyone half decent?) just shell out the extra cheddar for Moreno. Buying premier talent a year or two early (Markovic, Moreno, hopefully Can and Origi) is apparently the only avenue we have to walk a world class player through those doors.
-I think many of you are sleeping on Pool a bit too much. Go watch our top performances last season- no one player is ever responsible for that kind of carnage, only an entire squad that has bought into their manager's message. No doubt losing Luis is a big setback, but this team is still built to rape and pillage.

I suspect for these games sanchez will be playing in the central role with walcott.on the right. Good luck playing a high line so you can press our midfielders with impunity vs that like teams were able to with giroud up top and.no feo.
