Schneiderlin to replace Arteta would be really good for Arsenal.. I dont see any reason why Wenger shouldnt break out the warchest on him.

Sandro is as good as gone imo. His agent is in discussions with Napoli apparently.

I agree, we have too many players that could potentially do a very good job there already - seems stupid to sell 2-3 of them cut price, and bring in a guy who judging by Shaw and Lallana is going to be way above market value.

We still have too many players who could make the grade at Spurs, but haven't been given a chance. We do need to ship 7-8 out and bring 3-4 in key positions (LB, CB, striker and perhaps winger) and allow things to settle. Disrupting areas we are already strong in for the sake of it so we end up selling 9-10 and bringing 5-6 in will just leave us in the same situation we were in last season.

Fwiw i'd be happy with a small spend and bring Cole, Caulker, Remy and Konoplyanka. Ship out Gylfi, Dawson, one of Capoue/Sandro, Soldado, Lennon and with the Livermore sale we should lower the wage bill and make a profit on fees. The only player i would keep who is marginal is Holtby - he strikes me as a Poch player - young, malleable, good work ethic and should definitely work in a pressing system.

Lovren, Davies, Bony and Konoplyanka with a few being shipped off would be a perfect window for me.

Really hope he's giving a chance. I think he's capable of being very good in this system.

Spurs would be mad to have another overhaul where they bring in more than one or two players, ffs the last load are still trying to settle. All the parts are there already.

Good striker and a real life LB (might need 2 of these, Rose is that bad) and they should be good to go.

MU splashing the cash a year late, should have backed Moyes from the start.

Wasn't supported from day one, on a losing battle thereafter.

I think the lol mirror or someone linked us to Ben Davies. Makes too much sense to not put it in the papers either way.
I was thinking yesterday that Spurs should sign Davies. Weird

Lovren yes, but isn't he left footed? not sure how much of a problem that is but he is a no brainer if Vertonghen leaves (which i think increasingly looks unlikely)

Davies yes, but not sure about Bony (or indeed Lukaku, based only partly on his awful WC). It's rather un-nerving how similar to Spurs of last season Belgium are - pedestrian build ups, not scoring in the first half and relying on late goals - and i don't think Lukaku offers anything to break this system.

Apparently Wenger replicated RVP's diving header on the beach.

----

The figure being thrown about for Davies ranges between Ł6-8m. Dunno if I see Swansea letting him go for that.

Fee Man Utd paid for Luke Shaw is Ł27m plus Ł1m add-on, depending whether certain clauses are met within the contract #MUFC

I somewhat agree but he himself also made mistakes. A lot of the blame is on the head of E.W as well though, the whole summer last season was just a cluster **** that still annoys me to this day!

At least he's learned his lesson and is getting the ball rolling. We still need more signings though but not too many as gelling could be an issue.

How much more would Ben Davies cost if he was born the other side of the English-Welsh border?

Came here to post this. Score millions of goals, concede far too many due to shoddy defence, buy entirely strikers and midfielders in offseason. Are we linked with any defenders at all?

Only just learned that Man City has signed Fernando Reges. That could be the perfect signing, especially for Fernandinho who should become more freed up.

Against the very best teams the Fernandinho and Yaya duo had their problems defensively and eventually they were kind of forced to use Javi Garcia too much in an attempt to find balance. With Fernando they're getting one of the very best defensive midfielder/anchor specialists.

The more wealthy often overpay for stuff in all walks of life.

Also, the combination of homegrown criteria and the comparatively (in comparison with Spain, Germany for example) sparse existence of English qualifying homegrown talent that is actually worthy of a place in a top ~8 European squad means that those English qualifying homegrown talents are going to cost considerably more than a Spanish/German counterpart.

But to bring this back on topic (sry for derail). I think with the new sponsorship deal our management is now somewhat likely to increase the overall wage structure of the team. The long term nature of the deal makes this fairly likely imo. Before there was always rhetoric along the lines of "don't want to risk getting burned in 3 years".
tl;dr: Likelihood of Reus/Hummels staying increased by a good chunk imo. Before I was sure Reus would be a lock to be gone (30% this season, 95% next), now I'd put him staying at increased wages at around 42%.
After last season he could have commanded Götze money or more and I feel we can extend him for ~8.5 million Euro gross/year (discount over market value)
