I havent followed this super close, but it seems like Arsenal get 50% of anything over the fee Barcelona paid them, which is very normal and isnt going to get them much/anything.

They also have to convince Fabregas to join them before their buy back/first right of refusal is worth anything. Right now the clauses look pretty much worthless.

from what I read we are only getting 50% on possible profits
for example: if barca sell for 40mil(bought him for 35mil -> 5mil profit -> 2.5mil to arsenal)

hard to tell what's actually true when it comes to contract clauses though
definitely think there is a reasonable chance our "we don't want cesc" stance is just posturing to lower the price

that clause seems plausible. hard to tell when it comes to contract clauses is indeed true, but 50% sell-on is totally unbelievable and would never happen anywhere.

I think Pete would be an amazing addition to just about any club in the world. He always struck me as Barca's answer to Di Maria- everyone rates the flashier teammates higher, but at the end if the day they make the machine go.

Pete would be awesome at Arsenal. He'd know how to play with and enhance all the various talents Arsenal has collected. Theo, Giroud, Özil, etc. all bring different attributes to the table, and Pete would help bring them out.

I think the team is very close to being right there for the title, and Pedro is just the kind of player to push them over the line. (Granted, I would say the exact same thing for Liverpool, Chelsea, lol etc....)

So Liverpool have been linked pretty strongly* with Alberto Moreno (€16-22M) and Shaqiri (£15M). Those are the kinds of talents that would toy with us before going to a CL club in windows past. We'll see if they can close the show this time around.

*meaning the language used has been strong, ie terms like "...is a done deal" and "...have had a bid accepted", not necessarily that the sources are strong. They've been loosely bandied about with names like Pedro, Alexis Sanchez, Greizmann, Cuardado too (and even REALLY far-fetched crap like Fabregas, Müller, etc.), but never to the point where anyone was declaring anything done or even close.

I think transfer stories are basically worthless save a few websites, but there are so many reports on cesc and Chelsea there must be some substance to it.

Looks like barca is closing in on Rakitic which is a pretty clear signal with regards to cesc IMO.
