I've given up trying to figure out what Vegas is going to set for lines. But if I had to set a fair line, I'd set it at PK to be honest. I'd have to check Buffalo's home/away splits though.

having a relevant game against Buffalo is pretty sweet.

Actually it's Vinatieri. Dynasty scolded me severely once when I mispelled one of his favorite players names.

But the reason I posted. For the first time going forward I have confidence that Cassell is good enough for this team to win. I thought he had a great game last night. He avoided sacks, found secondary receivers and his running provides an element teams must be concerned with. I see growth in him and can see Belichick allowing the offense to be opened up a bit in future games.

BB did not have a stellar evening imo. That timeout and his challenge of 12 men on the field that cost us a precious time out and going for 2, too early in the game were not good decisions. He (or his OC) called too many flanker screens, a play the speedy Colts D had no trouble with.

Heh toro, I wonder why I spelled his name that badly, though I might not have gotten it completely right anyway.

Cassell is adequate, he gets hated on too much because of brady. I think he should be OK going forward.

Like it was said, not a typical BB game, too many screens like toro said that were ineffective. Lack of TO was brutal in the end. Gaffney also messed up.

I nailed the 4 line imo.

you can't blame BB for the 12 men on the field call, its not like he should have known that the Colts were running their 11th man off the field.

I think when you use a challenge in a situation like this you should be sure that it is going to be successful. All that could be gained was the 5 yard penalty and you were risking losing one of your two challenges and the all important time out.

Later in the half when the Pats went for two it was awfully close but they couldn't afford to challenge as it would have risked their last challenge and would have eaten up their last timeout. I would have rather seen them challenge this play with the potential of putting points on the board rather than the insignificnat 5 yards for the other challenge.

Meh, I think BB figured there was a 90% chance he was going to win the challenge. I don't particularly think he messed up huge there.

But yes, if I couldn't get better odds online, I would take the Dolphins straight up over both the Jets and Pats easily, and I think it's probably a flip with Buffalo. They are by far the best team in the division at this point.
I know what you mean but I wouldn't even get overconfident they will win those next two. This next month is when they either turn the corner on being a loser or revert back to losing ways inspite of easy schedule and opportunity. You love them to arrive. Duly noted. I'll just watch. Good luck wid it.

What is the record of West Coast teams traveling to the east coast? Add that to the fact that Seattle and Oakland are 2-6 already and I don't think the Dolphins will lose.

I didn't say they'd lose either one. I cautioned against overconfidence in regard to those two games and raised the greater issue of whether the Dolphins are going to turn the corner on their losing ways or do more like what the Bengals did (you know, get to playoff level and then decide they'd rather like go to jail and lose, lose, lose). There's plenty of ways to lose when you're looking for them, and far fewer ways to win. Changing that culture is a bigger factor sometimes than what the power ratings of the teams playing are.

Did they re-hire Jimmy Johnson?

Clearly I'm saying that Dolphs need to be careful to avoid what established losers do best, which is lose (particularly when the spectre of success raises it's head). Surely you've known tons of degenerate gamblers like that.

You picking the Dolphins to be 8-4 in a month? I'd like to see it happen.

They should be decent favorites in the next four games. That doesn't mean I think they're >50% to go 4-0 in those games
