S2 is a lot better. If you think S1 was ok/acceptable watch S2 for sure.

its a weird show bc they're making the inmates the heroes and the people policing them the villains. although on a literary level that's kinda neat, i think in practice it really isn't like that. sure, there are some inmates that prob arent too bad, maybe even good. and there are prob some wardens or whatever that are awful and crooked. but it's way flipped the wrong way

i decided to try and watch carnivale - i've been wanting to for like 10 years

i don't know if this show is just too smart for me or if it is just really simple and it's trying to be way smarter than it is

is s2 any better than s1? at s1 finale now

This. It's like how Richard Pryor specials aren't funny anymore because you've already seen it ripped off and/or refined a hundred times.

Also, there was no budget so Oz was mostly done in single takes. Like the producers didn't want Adebisi to wear that hat. In the first shoot, he wore it anyway and there wasn't any budget to reshoot so the hat became the hat. The actor talked about it on Opie and Anthony and I'm sure it's on YouTube.

The first seasons are far from horrible. Then it gets pretty horrible.

Yeah I never even finished it first time around

Watched every season except for last

Currently trying to get into the Americans. On s2e3 and its a pretty good show but I feel the same waybabiht it as I did the shield (watched about three seasons)....some of the acting and predictable plot twists just make me not that interested

Season 2 is a distinct level above season 1, and gets damned near elite. It will not be a miss-allocation of TV time. Chilltown still managed to oversell it, though. In other words: better than Game of Thrones, not as good as Breaking Bad, but well on it's way.

It was a beautiful season of television.

Unparalleled visual and audio.

I love me some well done production value. Other shows should take notice and just yolo it out of the atmosphere. Dream sequences, elite Brienne vs Hound fight scenes, murder fantasies, cannibalism, self cannibalism, psychological manipulation of the highest order, a character who thinks he is the devil, etc.
