Yea guess you can read it both ways

His hand was clenching before the blue meth line though.

Would Walt have not read about blue meth in the x months of hometown newspapers he was reading? Wouldn't that be in every article about the missing kingpin Walter White?

also it's pretty goddamn unrealistic that some random cook hasn't figured out he can charge a lot more if he throws some some blue food coloring in his meth by now

I think ricin in Lydia's chamomile tea is a distinct possibility

They've spent way too many scenes with this tea business for Gilligan to not do something w that id think.

also, I agree with SRM that the mention of blue meth back on the market is what ultimately triggered Walt

I don't think grey matter is going to be involved in the finale

Yeah if it had nothing to do with the Schwartzes they could have just shown him reading about it in the paper

unless this is something else i missed they could at least finally explain why walt left gretchen/gray matter.

Wasn't it a love triangle gone wrong or something along those lines?

i have to believe the ricin's either for elliott or jesse. death by ricin is way more agonizing than a bullet to the head and those are the 2 people that have effectively cost walt everything he has/the 2 people he'd want to suffer til they die. its intended purpose when walt created it was for it to be an untracable kill, a quality that's now completely useless to walt. at this point the only use ricin has left to walt is to cause maximum suffering

doesn't really matter, if he goes to take out the nazis with his Scarfacegun he's gonna find Jesse locked away in his cage regardless, which obv makes for an epic scene

i think the implication Walt's pride/ego/dickishness caused him to bolt from that whole thing, but in his mind made himself a victim somehow

can't seem to find that scene with him and Gretchen anymore, but i'm sure it's in there

if ricin is for elliot im going to be a little disappointing. imo VG has made a big deal about this ricin, for it to be on a minor character seems just very bad.

i don't think his grudge is with them. even though they are tarnishing his name. he cares more about his meth legacy (wearing the hat right away when he gets to the cabin, this whole show) over gray matter

i remember the scene with him and gretchen at the restaurant/diner or whatever the hell it was but it still wasn't properly explained. all we really know is that walt is super pissed at gretchen and gretchen apparently has no idea why.

which obv means it's more his fault that anyone else's

iirc she gets MAD at the assertion that he was forced out, says something like he flat out took off and disappeared while they were away somewhere together, and she didn't take up with Elliot until after that

Walt/Gretchen lunch scene

oh good, i remembered it more or less correctly

the whole thing reeks like an early Heisenberg moment from him really, gets MAD about something, makes an ALPHA move, rationalizes/reworks it in his head later to fit whatever narrative he wants

I thought it was a nice touch how he ordered his drink neat.... I think that's how Hank always had his drinks.

I also heard that in real life people are now making blue meth cause of this show.

In before law suits irl.

Wasn't their another flashback where he was Gretchen's mentor type and it was obvious walt was really into her? Classroom setting type thing iirc. Could be wrong.
