You really think it's more likely that Bama goes 9-3 or worse than 10-2 or better?

Why do you think that?

Anyone who thinks Bama will be over 2.5 losses

I said I think they can lose 2 but will not lose 2.5+ and you said hard to take anything I say seriously, so I assumed you also thought 3+ was more likely

No, don't read too much into what I said. Not making an opinion on bama's season just that of course you have a more favorable opinion than average of Alabama.

You can bet all your money on over 9.5 wins for bama if you think it's so preposterous.

Bama fans are spoiled by '09,'11, and '12 when the SEC gauntlet consisted basically of one game vs. LSU. Now that basically every other program on their schedule has gotten their **** together, 10 wins is going to be extremely difficult. You're so used to success that last year seems like just another season but it was really an incredible coaching job by Saban and Kiffin, as well as having great leadership from Sims and Cooper and some good fortune too.

The 9.5 line on Bama currently has juice about -140 or so which makes it particularly unattractive to me. Bama can be a top five team in terms of overall talent and still go 9-3 just due to variance a very solid proportion of the time. To me, they are co-favorites with Auburn in the West/SEC. Auburn has the advantage of Iron Bowl at home and home vs away against UGA.

I hear a lot of UGA fans annoyed at Auburn being so highly ranked and thought of at this point. I think their ranking is definitely deserved, especially being higher than UGA.

This was posted in the offseason thread but it definitely deserves to be posted here too so we can laugh at vandy all year.

From a casualfan.jpg perspective I agree with you, but apparently Vegas does not agree with us. Not sure if this still holds as it was published in June

They have tOSU at 11, Baylor & TCU at 10, everyone else 9.5 and below.

Bama leads SEC at 9.5 followed by UGA at 9 and AU/LSU/Ole Miss at 8.5.

QB: Jeremy Johnson is projected as the best passer in the SEC. He's 2nd team All-SEC preseason from the media and Phil Steele. Would be first team if people didn't feel silly picking a first year starter ahead of lolDak Prescott. Backup is a former Elite 11 MVP.

WR: Duke Williams is first team All-SEC preseason from the media and Phil Steele and Kiper's #1 WR, although he just got held out of practice for disciplinary reasons. In addition, it's probably as deep a corps as Auburn has had with a ton of experience: Ricardo Louis (caught the prayer at Jordan Hare), Melvin Ray (TD catch in the title game), Marcus Davis (huge final drive catches on 3rd and long vs. TAMU and MSU), Myron Burton (spring game MVP), Stanton Truitt, Tony Stevens, among others.

RB: Jovon Robinson is the #1 recruit out of JUCO and Steele has him 4th team All-SEC and Marcus Spears listed him as the best newcomer in the SEC. But he may not even win the job because we have a 3-headed monster with Roc Thomas and Peyton Barber. Also, Kerryon Johnson is a top 100 player out of HS who could be a breakout player at RB or WR.

And the O-line might be the strength of the team. We might be overrated, but I doubt it will be because of our O.

coming from someone that doesn't follow SEC footbawl, Khalil Mckenzie from UT has got to take all the freshman of the year awards, if not all the defensive player of the year awards.
How is that man-child only 18?

Not sure why you're lolling Dak Prescott, he had a better passer rating last year than Nick Marshall. Unless you're saying Johnson is gonna be better than Nick Marshall? I personally think Kyle Allen is gonna be better than anyone in the SEC this year, unless Kiffin works his magic two years in a row and gives us another all SEC QB.

Duke Williams should have a great year but Pharoah Cooper is the odds on favorite to lead the SEC in basically all WR categories. I think it'll be close though and between those two. Not really feeling the idea of annointing guys who made clutch plays in individual games accolades for the best unit in the SEC.

UGA, LSU and Bama all have better RB corps than AU, you're completely reaching there.

I mean don't get me wrong, AU could have the best collection of skilled position guys in the SEC this year, nothing would surprise me in that offense, but it's a little silly to project them best in the SEC right now when Duke Williams is essentially the only returning starter.

I think a good argument could be made that they had that last year, even with the (relatively) down year Marshall had. I think that other than Duke they're all in the NFL now in some capacity. It's just hard to keep that going when you lose nearly everyone.

We didn't lose nearly everyone. We lost a 3rd-rd WR, a 5th-rd RB, and an undrafted QB. Auburn is freaking LOADED with playmakers. Just wait and see. Of course we don't have better RBs than UGA and ARK. I never said that.

Bama lost their QB, the #4 overall player and a couple of others at WR, and had 2 RBs drafted before ours. Where's the aghast at ranking them at #3 if losing skill players is so devastating?

Every LSU, Tennesee, Georgia, Florida, etc. fan feels the same way about Bama. Respect the team? Sure. Respect the players? OK, that too. LOL at the troglodyte fan base? Of course.
