Anything Goes, by far, is currently the best country song out there

This performance is more than a year old, but it's still my favorite in recent memory:

Its between Future Islands and The Orwells for best Letterman appearance of last year

The SE Music Thread Quote

They went back just over a month past that appearance too

I did not enjoy that performance. Doesn't really hold a candle to future islands.

Dude from future islands should be in a hardcore band.

I loved the Letterman performance of FI and their studio work but a lot of their other live performance (Austin City Limits for ex) the gutteral stuff is too overbearing imo

That song and that blonde's hips have been running through my brain on an endless loop all day. One of those isn't a bad thing. Damn pop music.

Thanks bobbo

One of my favorite old school (well maybe not that old school) bands is Superdrag. Not some super complex, layered intense music, just good catchy rock. Most people probably know them from this

I guess on YouTube you can actually listen to some of their albums, they aren't very long

Trying to think of songs from the 90's that aren't that well known;

Found this group/song from lol Columbia House memberships (one of those 'if you like this try this' rabbit holes that went 7 clicks deep) where me and my 18 year old roommates signed up for multiple memberships under random names and they'd deliver the 9 cd's or watev and bill us later which would go unpaid obv. Guess that's a LOWLIFE story now that I think about it.

Think this one was delivered to Rita Clitholder:

I'll stop my Superdrag love here, but this was a GOAT song for early teen, random angst me back in the day. Still holds up IMO, solid pop rock song.

That Sucked Out song takes me back.... I still remember the video.

No Myth by Michael Penn's one of my favorites.

90s garage rock / alternative / whatever is my jam. Don't listen to it a ton, but when someone mentions it I go down the rat hole.

Imperial Teen - You're One

Ash - Goldfinger

Wax - Southern California

Quicksand - Fazer

Speaking of Goldfinger

Man I used to love Ash. Probably should change this title to something reflecting 90s music when we were young and alive.

Like they even have a Star Wars sound effect to start off their album

I find myself listening to more isolated tracks than actual songs anymore.

Here are some good ones:

Duran Duran Rio bass

GNR Welcome to the Jungle rhythm guitar

EVH isolated (he's got a ton of good isolated tracks)

The Who Who Are You isolated guitar (wow)

Rush Closer to the Heart iso bass&drums

Etc. Not a ton of stuff on YT but apparently many of these are loaded from Guitar Hero games. Would absolutely love to have access to every isolated track ever made obv. I'm John Paul Jonesing to buy a bass.
