I see VMF has dropped all pretence at being anything other than a Trump partisan.

You get that "we've all" in his email means the Washington elite in general, right? Unless you think "demeaning government" and "dropping civics" is more the province of Democrats than Republicans, in which case lol. What the email is saying is that the whole of Washington conspired to create a dumb and apathetic citizenry, and that they are now moving to "dumb but not apathetic", which is a serious problem. Note this bit:

what can she do to offset this? I'm certain the poll-directed insiders are sure things will default to policy as soon as the conventions are over, but I think not.
He's saying a greater focus on policy would be a win for Clinton, this demonstrates that he is not saying that an "unaware" citizenry is a goal for the Clinton campaign.

lol at the "unaware and compliant citizenry" being us. Would you have us believe that Trump represents a new renaissance in respect for government and civic institutions? He's Exhibit A in the conspiracy to demean government and civics.

VMF has already admitted that he doesn't think through his arguments and doesn't care about being right. He just likes to make points and dig in.

The context wasn't politics related, but I can't imagine that m.o. being any lessened what with the topic being so much more subjective than basketball.

While more context would be useful, it appears that the author is annoyed by the lack of substance in political discourse ("I'm certain the poll-directed insiders are sure things will default to policy as soon as the conventions are over"), the "we" is intended to refer to the entire professional politician class, and the plea is for more substance and policy, rather than an affirmation of a "conspiracy to produce an unaware and complaint citizenry" by demeaning government and civics.

Seems pretty reasonable really.

First I lol'd at Chris and I writing like identical posts, then I lol'd at the quick retreat. Also I'm surprised VMF that you aren't more aghast at the Trump sexual assault express. Not to change the subject or anything :P

Woah just saw this guy at the ETC show like a month ago. Was good, but politically charged just a bit. Was with friends from home (which is down state and completely red, they are actually farmers) and the show kind of blew their mind.

The ad is quite openly fake though, from the moment you get to "A NY company known for its fake universities". It's not clear from the email what the intention of the creators was. They may have intended to post it as an item to Clinton's campaign site or in an email campaign or whatever. Some chance they intended to use it as an ad for display on other websites, with clickthrough to information about various Trump scandals. You would have to be stone cold ******ed to think they actually intended to post the ad to craigslist, which naturally is exactly what a lot of derplorables think.

Edit: For a second I wondered whether they might actually intend to post it to craigslist as a viral campaign but definitely not, because they say "this will be a microsite", confirming they intend to host it themselves.

You're right, we need to talk about what really matters. Ben Carson knows what's up.

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/vid...ne_please.html

Quote:
KATTY KAY, BBC: Are you saying that these woman are lying?

DR. BEN CARSON: That’s your characterization, because you need to characterize it that way to try to make me the bad guy. But here's--

KAY: You just said it is a question--

CARSON: Stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop. Hey, can you turn her microphone off, please? Turn her microphone off so I can talk?

SCARBOROUGH: No. Stop? It is a simple question. Yes or no, do you believe these women are lying or not, we just want a straight answer.

CARSON: It doesn’t matter whether they’re lying or not—

KAY: Of course it does.

CARSON: Listen. It doesn’t matter whether they’re lying or not. What matters is that the train is going off the cliff. We’re taking our eye off of that, and we’re getting involved in other issues that we can take care of later.

KAY: Of course it matters...

CARSON: Here's what we need to be thinking about. I love the fact that all of the sudden, you want to talk about morality in our country, I would love us to bring back our Juedo-Christian values and begin to teach those things, at a time other than a political election, but right now the train is going off the cliff. You've got to understand that.

Considering how tragic--from a Trump supporter's POV--it would be if Hillary won, I can understand their sentiments.

Hate Crimes Rise Along With Donald Trump's Anti-Muslim Rhetoric

Hate Crimes Against American Muslims Most Since 9/11 Era

And in Britain, we can see the same thing - when bigotry becomes a mainstream political ideology, people are emboldened to take action - Hate Crimes Soared by 41% after Brexit vote

These are probably all coincidences though, right?

It's definitely true that the complete Trump meltdown has moved the spotlight away from all of the Hillary/Bill news, including Hillary private speech excerpts to Wall Street, coordination between DOJ and the Clinton campaign, and a Reuters report that Qatar may have given Bill Clinton $1m as a birthday present while HRC was SecState.
