Getting back to the pensions issue, IL looks a mess. A lot of other Northeastern states look bad, problems mostly stem from how generous the plans were starting in the 70's and 80's.

How do you fix this? If there is any type of prolonged recession, aren't these states in big trouble? I guess they just continue to raise contribution amounts from current workers, but you can only do that so much.

They are ****ed. There are two options. Federal bailout or gg pension beneficiaries.

I think like MA can maybe fade it because you got a lot of $ coming in with how educated the workforce is. VC $, rich Chinese, knowledge economy industry but a state like CT which basically just has rich olds from NY seems a little more ****ed.

CT or NJ tries to raise taxes on those folks and they will just move to FL or something.

So I guess Trump's first act as President will be a drone strike on Obama.

well actually in IL on the state level, those pensions get paid first via state constitution (it's absurd they got that in there) so actually things like education, police, fire, or anything else the state pays for gets ****ed.

I'm still laughing a little at Trump's "Obama founded ISIS" nonsense. Where does he go next?

Trump attacks Hillary because Omar Mateen's father sat behind her, while Mark Foley is sitting behind him

Quote:
Presidential candidate Donald Trump ripped into Hillary Clinton on Wednesday because the father of the Orlando nightclub shooter attended her recent rally — right as a potentially embarrassing guest was sitting right behind Trump in Sunrise.

"Wasn't it terrible when the father of the animal that killed the wonderful people in Orlando was sitting with a big smile on his face right behind Hillary Clinton?" Trump asked the crowd at the BB&T Center. Just a few minutes earlier, Trump observed that "the people behind me, they're all going to be on television. They're all going to be famous."

Just over Trump's left shoulder was former U.S. Rep. Mark Foley, who resigned in disgrace during a sex scandal.
Oops.

I'm trying to, I'm really trying to, but I'm not seeing the equivalence between a gay ex-politician who resigned in 2006 and the father of a mass murderer in 2016. I mean, I could see it if Dylann Roof's father was standing behind Trump at a rally in SC. That'd definitely be a front page story in the New York Times, that Dylann Roof's father was supporting Donald Trump. It'd probably lead a few nightly news shows too. I'm pretty sure it would get more than 1 minute and 36 seconds.

On a lighter note, I'd like to propose a hypothetical. How much money (tax-free) would it take to get the Presidential candidates to drop out? If I had to set a line, I'd say that anything over 75 million would get Trump to drop out, but Clinton would require at least 150 million. Gary Johnson and Jill Stein would probably take 5 million combined. To be quite honest that'd probably be the best 225 million we could spend this year. I agree with schu, SMOD in 2016.

Cruz move not to endorse Trump looking better by the day. Once this **** ends, everyone in the GOP is going to throw each other under the bus and he is going to emerge from the rubble.

I don't think Trump or Clinton is dropping for less than 200M straight cash homie, both are already rich and all their monetary needs were satisfied a long time ago.

A few other guesses:

* Obama accused me of founding ISIS.

* Every fireman should be jailed.

* Obama is Bin Laden--same person.

* Hillary Clinton is the devil.

* Many people are saying Tim Kaine is a child molester.
