Watch Democrats continue to pander to "responsible gun owners" and say they grew up hunting or whatever other bull**** they always say. Will just one ****ing person have some ****ing balls and call for Japan style gun control please.

Even those of you who seem to want this to stop seem to not understand the problem here. Gun control is a bad idea. We don't need gun control. Stop talking about gun control.

We need guns to be banned completely. Reframe it. Talk about taking guns away.

We don't need to honor the 2nd Amendment. Its not an inherent right. Its something a bunch of guys got together and wrote 230 ****ing years ago without any sense of what the wold would look like in 130 years much less 230. However, one of the really cool things they did when they wrote this (btw, the original version of the laws that govern this country didn't include the Second Amendment; hence the term "Amendment") was allow us a way to change it. We need a new amendment to repeal the 2nd Amendment (btw, this was done before too). Its not exactly news that you can repeal an amendment and things will be ok.

No citizen should have the right to legally own or possess a gun. That's the actual correct path. Anything else is a half-measure designed for unnecessary political compromise or an unwillingness to press the issue and will be a detriment to society.

It'll be easier to have a bunch of states successfully secede than it would be to repeal the second amendment. Banning guns requires one of those things to happen.

Sorry but we are only one state away from not only strengthening the second amendment but also a constitutional amendment against abortion and likely some civil rights repeals.

The Dems should pay people to move from like California to electoral rich swing states with Republican houses. Plenty of margin for error in say California.

People should legitimately just set up a mass protest where hundreds of thousands swarm the Capitol and literally not let them leave the building until they pass gun laws.

Pass a 1000000000% bullet tax retroactive to 30 years ago. Turning in a gun lets you deduct $1000 from this liability.

I have a solution. Make it so that guns have to use other guns as bullets. That way, every time you shoot a gun, you lose a gun.

In addition, if a mass shooter tries to kill people, he'll be shooting guns at them with guns. The people being shot at could just pick up the bullet-gun and use it to defend themselves.

I don't think we should ban all guns, but I think we should register all guns.

Tax churches.

Instant statehood for DC and PR.

National popular vote for president.

Make farm subsidies dependent on how available and compliant abortion services are.

starting from when? now? bc how in the world would that look if it was for every gun in the country?

I mean, I guess passing a federal law that gave the death sentence for being caught with an unregistered gun would do it, but short of that... ?? tax incentives to register unregistered guns?

We need smart guns. When technology becomes available to put limited AI controls on guns then a Federal ban and confiscation on dumb guns can go into effect. It is ludicrous but probably technologically achievable in 5-10 years. It is still easier than repealing the 2nd amendment or secession.

Just make possession of an unregistered firearm a criminal offence punishable by up to 5 years in prison. Life for a second offence, or for possession of any firearm in a public place. It's not hard. Suddenly everyone has to register or surrender their guns, and keep them locked away.

If the argument is "but then the only people with guns will be criminals" then the answer is "correct, and criminals should go to prison."

technology is the answer imo. moving towards biometric/fingerprint firearms is the answer. some states already have laws on the books requiring all guns sold to be biometric as soon as they are widely available. the technology isn't far, i mean every cellphone now has the required tech. the NRA is obviously staunchly opposed even though this would be good for them as people will need to buy new guns.

tiered buyback/exchange program that pays 100% first year through nothing/+fines 5th year.

while still allowing people to have guns, this eliminates things like school shootings where kids get a hole of their parents guns.

obvious downside is guns need to have a power source, so they would just be charged while being kept secured. hacking is a problem, but probably small since the guns dont need to have an outside connection.

It's not like it would be worthless unless you register every single gun.

I'd start with having possession of an unregistered firearm will cause you to lose a concealed carry permit or hunting license. You should be flagged for buying ammo for a type of gun that you haven't registered and that should allow the government to search your home for unregistered guns.
