Wes is a dumbass. He could have just gone in next time against Josh or Kyle

Was definitely really dumb throwing himself into a carnival game elimination instead of something where his strengths can be realized

Maybe it was hard to tell that it was mostly luck

Or, as said previously, he could have put Bananas in the tribunal. Then he sees the people’s choice and elimination contest and decides if he wants to go in or pass and give the option to Bananas. He had control of the whole situation with he and Dee both winning and he gave it up.

Bananas put himself in before the Tribunal chose anybody to interrogate. Unfortunately Wes and Dee had no say in the house

I know the people in the challenge don’t know this, but last night was only episode 10. There’s still going to be 3 or 4 more guys eliminations before the finals (this is a non-spoiler; I don’t know for sure, just basing this on length of previous seasons).

Not sure why Wes and company were talking like there’s only 1 left after this.

But he also gave away his plan by tanking during game. So Wes could have put him in the tribunal and neutralized him.

I think he made the right decision in terms of game EV. Go vs Bananas in some 50/50 game where if he wins, he goes back to the house and is setup nicely to win the final. This is a weak cast...CT, Jordan, Joss, Turbo, that tall black british dude are all gone or weren't in the game. He would be 1 of the favs in a final.

If he plays nice with Bananas and they both go to the final, honestly, he probably gets smoked and most of the $ goes to the top anyway. And I'm sure he knew that.

Wes/Bananas in elimination is great but I thought the buildup to it was pretty lackluster. Didn't really explain Wes motives very well (Bananas tried to before the elimination, he clearly understood what Wes was doing)

He tried to kill 2 birds with 1 stone and maintain a relationship with Bananas for future seasons. It was a pretty brilliant strategy if you think about it, he just fell slightly short. I mean, the guy isn't prime Landon as far as competing goes. It is pretty impressive how he is still able to run the house so well as he gets up there in age.

Yeah, was probably +EV for Wes to try to get his skull while taking out Bananas, giving him a better shot to take the final.

why do people actually think that Wes and Bananas didn't plan this out when they saw how this was going to be. Bananas wants to go in and get his skull, so they make sure that we finally get the elimination between the two of them.

Doing this also possibly extends their shelf-life on this as we can now have a few seasons of them teaming up before finally hanging it up

There's a million dollars at stake and Bananas and West's shelf life doesn't depend on anything other than their own desire to do the show and stay physically fit.

While true, the whole situation felt a bit too convenient and it wasn’t like Bananas was blind sided when Wes came down. They were working together the whole time and all of a sudden they aren’t on the same page? That seems a bit fishy to me.

You think I they cut a deal? Seems weird but possible

maybe? It just seemed too convenient that magically bananas didn't talk to Wes about it and that this is where Wes went in when he could likely take out Kyle or Nelson in almost any elimination. I have a hard time believing that players as smart as Wes and Johnny here were that far apart and not on the same page.

edit: what I honestly think is that when Johnny decided he was going in, him and wes had a discussion. If either of them were to go out, they don't want to go out to anyone but the other. When they found out what the format was going to be, that likely changed their original plan and figured out a different one and picked the right timing for it. Johnny even mentioned not wanting to go out in some sort of culling and I'd imagine Wes felt the same.

If WEST and JOHN have part of each other's action that would be even more of a reason to not go against each other because the value of having both of them in a final would be huge. They could help each other out or slow down another challenger in the final.

yeah i don't think they had any action swap or anything, then the move is horrible

I really think it was just Wes made the right move and Bananas thinks like a producer so he probably likes the new him+Wes BFF storyline rather than the storyline be him coming into the house and like 12 people start gunning for him from the jump

not necessarily, because this guarantees one of them has a skull to run the final now (with a very good shot at taking it down) at the cost of the other one being eliminated, whereas if Wes didn't choose to go in Bananas could've lost to someone else and Wes either might never have gotten a chance to go in afterwards or if he did he could have lost as well

Caught up. Wes vs Johny, wish it was more head to head physical but i'll take it. These boys and gals need to start throwing themselves in because it's coming down to the wire. Kyle & Melissa are both acting like they don't ever want to go in, it's pretty ridiculous. If they both don't end up going in then they need to stop inviting them back.

But he didn’t have to. He already saw Bananas was throwing and Rogan admitted he was going down anyway and just trying to get West to throw him a bone before he fell.
