With 2 challenges a year they are going to try random stuff in hopes of getting the viewer to watch other shows. My guess is a large part of the Challenge viewing population doesn't even watch any other MTV shows.

I thought the We Love Diem special was tastefully done. Heartbreaking, but good to see them all reminisce about the good times with Diem in the PM.

are you the one is definitely entertaining, tons of house drama. not as good as the challenge obv, but if you love the challenge you would probably at least enjoy AYTO. the competitors they got from it sucked tho

IDK, of the 15-20 people that I know who watch the Challenge only a few watch Teen Mom, and I don't know of any that watch RW. Lol sample size tho.

I had no idea the Challenge was back on last week until I saw this thread pop-up in my subscription list.

People who post on 2p2 and friends d people that post on 2p2 are not te generic mtv viewer and make up a very small portion of the total viewers.

The average mtv viewer is probably a late teens white female. And the challenge is going to draw them in because it's drama, like all of mtv. No doubt the challenge is mtvs show with the biggest "I only watch that" population, but it's still a drop in the bucket.

John and Simone may be completely uninteresting, unattractive people, but at least they can say they did one useful thing in their lives, which is punt Jessica and Dustin for good.

They totally suck though and will lose next week no matter who they face. Unlike everyone else I look forward to next weeks low-tech exile challenge. Maybe it will be first to complete a Sudoku, or perhaps whoever can pitch a tent the fastest. I am somewhat surprised TJ doesn't force MTV to send Jonny Moseley down the beach to handle these.

I haven't watched a non-Challenge show on MTV in over 10 years. I know these characters from my previous viewing, which keeps me engaged, and I love the format. My DVR is set to record all seasons so I don't have to monitor MTV (the stickies in this forum also help).

Though I agree most viewers of the Challenge are likely far younger, and possibly trend female (not sure about the second part).

I accidentally saw the last 10 minutes of the new Real World while waiting for the Challenge and apparently it's some kind of game show now

CT gone noooooooooooooooooooo

Simone under calling and then over bidding on the elimination was some kind of dumb. Then she still blamed her partner during the confessional because he couldn't eat that many on the third round, failing to realize it was her dumbass who set the bar.

Still in camp ewww Jenna's face. And why does she lean and tilt her head during all her confessionals when she is talking....

Sarah's entire babbling strategy is really stupid too and is not going to work on any level, nice try tho. Sort of a meh episode if you eliminate the CT/Diem exit.

7 brownies!?!?

the last mtv show I watched until I picked up the Challenge last season was Jersey Shore. I have never watched even half a season of any other show even when I was a teenager.

Rw Las Vegas 2011 was the last non challenge show that was elite on mtv. Early jersey shore seasons were amazing too

Not bad strat. I'm glad I caught the last go round on Portland since it got me introduced to the cast (Reilly, Jordan, Averey, Nia, Bird, Jessica, the beta bi black guy whose name escapes me) and I think all of them went on to at least one CHALLENGE. Knowing them going in makes for better watching. Their behavior is fairly similar (if less nuanced) than their season with the exception of Nia, who somehow isn't coming across as a total sociopath on this show.

The season itself wasn't bad too. They've probably taken it a step or two too far for me now. It should almost have to change names as it's totally unrecognizable from what it used to be.

Pretty surprising they went with that elimination game over anything remotely athletic that would have guaranteed John and Simone going home.

Feels like the eating challenge replaced something legitimate in the dome when the producers saw it was two loser teams going at it. Like they didn't want to have to go to all the trouble of building or setting something up.

"**** it. What do we have in the kitchen?"

Some random thoughts since I've only been following this thread for a couple days, but watching Challenge forever:

* Of course MTV exploited the Diem thing. Why would that be surprising? I don't think it was done too awfully, though, & maybe it brings some cancer awareness to a younger demographic.

* I like Sarah on Challenges, but she's looking old all of a sudden & she's playing the game way too hard too early, which is probably going to cost her.

* Lol Jenna's face.

* Are You The One is a pretty entertaining show, but the choices of Challenge contestants from it was awful. Throw Chris/Shanley or Scali/slutty blonde girl on it from 1st season & you have something. & Leighton & his psycho stalker hookup from 2nd season would be good too.

* Tuq is talking about Marlon iirc.

* Disappointed in general with casting for this season, but still enjoying it.

* New season of Real World is kind of interesting. This guy is currently living in the house with a housemate he hooked up with, the girl he broke up with to go on Real World, & the girl he dated for 8 years. I think watching RW improves the Challenge experience (plus my wife likes it).

* Random idea for future season based on the previous note: TRIANGLES
