So from what I gather the Mundine Green fight was a complete farce as was Cooper v McInnes.

You gather correctly.

I'm fairly sure Cooper's corner threw the towel in for McInnes. I didn't even know that was possible.

As for Green\Mundine. Meh. I can see an argument for Mundine winning. And the scorecards were dumb (98-90, 96-94 and 94-94). No significant punches landed except Mundine's shot on the break... herp.

Side note\name drop : I've followed a lot of Quade's rugby career. My club beat his club in the 2009 state rugby championship. He went on to play for the provincial team I support and won the 2011 southern hemisphere championship with them (basically the best day of my life). He had his ups and downs at the international level. Training for this fight he did some sparring with my former boxing coach (current Australian SMW champion).

A lot. I believe he is moving to Russia now.

As for the fight, Mundine won that fight. Judge scored the fight 10-10 for round 7, even when Green got a point deducted. Guess they didnt like Mundine running and ducking and just jabbing for 6 rounds.

I'm in Brisbane. I'm a terrible rugby player though. Haha. Just slumming around in the low grades. Still fun. But I'm 33 now, so just trying to squeeze "just one more" season out.

That season (2009) Cooper's club had a really strong club level team (fainga brothers, Cooper, some other Queensland rugby journey men like van humphries, etc), and Quade had a really good season. They probably should have won it, but my club scrapped out a win in the grand final. Still, it was probably the season that solidified Cooper's spot for the reds (and eventually wallabies) and started the real push for the reds to finally win the championship in 2011.

Other side note... After that season, Cooper didn't play much brisbane club rugby because he was in the big money games, so he never actually won a club rugby championship... then last season, he was pushing for re-selection in the wallabies and\or Olympics and his club made the finals again so he volunteered his services... and they turned him down. Savage.

Be tough to win a decision vs AB in Cincy but it seems he is being given a decent chance for a guy with a 18-4 record.
i had never heard of him until he fought amir imam but he looks like a tough scrappy guy who has been a bit of a late bloomer after some iffy losses. i think it should be a very competitive fight. i was pretty high on imam though as a good prospect so i might be biased but i think granados is pretty good.

For anyone puzzled about Berto dragging his feet on signing a deal to fight Porter, it apparently has to do with Brook.

While Brook is closer to fighting Spence now than ever before, if he decides to vacate, it means Spence will fight for the vacant title against the highest rated challenger. That is Jeff Horn, who is fighting Manny, so the next highest would be Berto.

So if Brook vacates (we should know in the next week), Spence vs Berto would happen for the title. If Brook decides to defend vs Spence, I would imagine we'll see Berto vs Porter signed fairly quickly after.

I hope we get the latter scenario, mostly bc Brook vs Spence would be great (though even better at 154lbs, both those guys are huge, would rather see them at a more comfortable weight).

Price was done ever since that second loss to Tony Thompson.

Guy has no chin, no defense, no stamina. I don't know how the announcers were claiming that Hammer was out of energy and wearing out when he was coming forward and landing power shots consistently. Price was swinging for the fences after the 3rd round because he knew he couldn't go on much longer.

EDIT: ****, David Price was 275 lbs for that fight. WTF. He was 249 against Teper. Guess they figured that if he was heavy that he wouldn't be pushed around so easily lol

Apparently his stamina issues are more to do with him getting really anxious once he steps between the ropes.

He seems to be fine in training and can do the rounds without much problems but once he gets into the ring for a important fight he tenses up badly.

Shame really as he seems like a great guy out of the ring.

I'm glad to see Robert Easter going for it vs this trashcan, too often you see a flashy prospect just not fire enough and content to win a UD.

On the other hand, Easter doesn't look nearly ready to fill the giant shoes so many in the boxing world have laid out for him. Flashy and quick but I don't see him as a complete package yet. I think a good tough fighter with some power will give him a lot of trouble.
