I can't see Golovkin putting both his hands down towards his body as Canelo winds up, to try to block(?) a big punch standing straight up.

I guess we learned something tonight, a WW shouldn't move up a division to fight a guy that weighs in at light heavyweight on fight nights.

Also Canelo GGG would easily surpass Canelo Khan in PPV buys. GGG much more compelling and he's a solid b-side (neither Khan nor GGG can command an A side without a perfect matchup, and in neither case would it be a huge event).

Canelo doesn't really have a bigger obvious opponent to sell more PPVs against. No way Canelo goes down lower in weight to meet someone like Manny and a Cotto rematch isn't that interesting either (especially without a belt). Nobody else at 160lbs is interesting enough and a Lara or one of the Charlo brothers are poor PPV options that also carry the risk of a decision loss.

Canelo can certainly give up the belt and claim unrealistic negotiation or something else, take an easier fight and make good money, but he'll lose real street cred from boxing fans.

Probably a good idea for Canelo. He doesn't need GGG to make money. GGG needs Canelo to make money. Canelo is still really young and the biggest PPV draw in the sport. The superfight happen a few years down the road when GGG is older and slower while Canelo is only in his late 20's. That way he'd fight a much weaker GGG and still make just as much money.

It's unfortunate that he's such a huge pussy. But boxers these days would rather maximize their value and be pussies than have balls and put their body and legacy on the line for glory.

I think the fight happens. It would not surprise me if it happened at 158 or so, but doesn't really matter, GGG is smaller than Canelo in weight, he can make 158 np.
