Manny telling his country + the world to not use condoms has made a worse impact on the world then if floyd abused every GF he has ever had. And i am not a huge moneymay fan, but its annoying when ppl bring up personal reasons as to why they dont like floyd, when they should just enjoy the entertainment.

The HBO thing starts at 545 EST and they are only showing one fight as far as I know, so it should start by 6-630 EST I'd imagine.

Well, I think it's terrible to tell people not to use birth control too, but I think most people consider maliciousness worse than naivety and that's why Floyd is hated so much more.

The fight finally gets announced and this thread immediately rushes towards the AIDS event horizon with a discussion about domestic abuse and the catholic church, can we just enjoy this for one day plz?

WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

ITS HAPPENING

ITS HAPPENING

PRAISE BABY JESUS

a few years too late, but not so late that it's no longer a great fight. Still an awesome monster fight. Floyd and Manny aren't quite as good as they were a few years back, but Floyd is still the universally ranked #1 pfp fighter in the world, and Manny is near-consensus top 3-4.

so u guys think the asians will bet more on pac. and the line might move but maybe thats already priced in. i cant see me betting on pac. i dont know enough to analyse it. so im stuck with the thought..if a guy has never lost and is going to give it 110% in training and come in totally focused...well it seems unlikely he loses.

What if Pac gives it 128% tho?

Although it's a few years late I'm still pretty pumped for it.

money wouldn't take this fight if he wasn't ready to fight. he's been going to school on Manny. Wait for it to get bet down (at least sub +200, should be more) and take Mayweather

Up your stream game bro. If the Super Bowl is watchable anything is and there's never a problem finding SB streams.

mayweather is going to win a lacklustre dominant decision. would have been the favorite 5 years ago as well, but he aged much better than pac did and now it's not even close.

still gonna watch though, historic event.

Hey, sorta just got here, and unsure of the history between the two.

I am under the impression that Mayweather had been ducking this fight for a while, particularly when Pacquiao was in his prime.

Is this correct (assumed to be correct), or is there more to the story?

It is utterly ridiculous and something someone would say that doesn't know **** about boxing.

Floyd and the Money Team are the best at taking the optimal EV line that puts the most money in their pocket. It is astounding if you think about how much more money Floyd is making by having waited on this fight. Not just the better split now but all the other paydays he has had since.

I will love the press and hype boxing will get for this but the fight is going to suck. Manny is a legend but Floyd is better and will be at his most defensive, least chancing taking self. What people really want to see is a Provodnikov vs Matthysse war but this is going to basically be point fighting by Floyd.

After the fight I guarantee you will be let down and think boxing sucks. Floyd will win a clear decision but Manny fans will make up things why Manny won and then they will run it again with the same result. Like I said, Floyd is the master of taking the most EV line.

So what you are saying is, Floyd has been ducking him. Got it.

If you need that narrative to be entertained then so be it but it is just ****ing dumb. Floyd is the biggest douchebag and narcissist but he is an absolute master boxer. It is like saying Michael Jordan was afraid to play someone in basketball.

I will be cheering for Manny to win because that is the only way the fight can not suck but I just don't see that happening.

Floyd was taking the best line financially speaking. If he fights Manny and loses, he still has fights he is contractually obligated to make and a beaten Floyd will not make as much money as an unbeaten Floyd. This is his last fight on his current Showtime contract. It's very possible that this will be his last fight if he wins. He cements his legacy as the best in the world and rides off into the sunset.

So yeah, he was ducking Manny and it was because a loss to him would hurt both his legacy and his future earnings.

I think the ideal scenario for Mayweather wrt his legacy is to beat Manny on points in a somewhat close decision, say 116-112 across the board then beat him more convincingly in a rematch, then he books himself some sort of exhibition 'farewell to the king, for one night only' type of deal vs someone he can never lose to and then retires at 50-0. I can't see him settling for being equal with Marciano and there is ofc something of a superstition in boxing about getting past 49-0 so I'm sure he'd want to beat that.

Wouldn't it have been better for him to fight Bum McBumerson in his next fight, and then promise to fight Manny on a new contract?
