Never attempted to get tickets, I was meant to be going to Dublin (on the Sat) for the All Ireland Hurling final (on the Sun) but that has hit the fan as I have to work Monday which sucks. Will watch both on the box instead

this makes absolutely ZERO sense to me. not like there is a huge fight out there for him that is imminent or anything. what the hell i must be missing something. this might even be haymon doing a huge powerplay and telling jay z to **** off or something

Haymon is going to get Showtime to pay Quillin as much or more to fight another Haymon fighter, Danny Jacobs, probably this fall at Barclays.

If he doesn't do that, he's risks a lot, since the one thing Haymon is known for doing is maximizing his fighter's pay. He may get criticized for some of the softest touches and weakest ducking around, but Haymon gets guys paid. If he got Quillin to vacate for a smaller payday, that would hurt his reputation a lot.

Really my dislike for Showtime has gone up a ton. If they didn't pay Haymon's fighters so much money to fight ridiculous opponents, Haymon wouldn't really have an outlet for this crap. They're enablers, and the real problem.

Had me fooled for awhile with the Matthysse Garcia undercard, really thought Haymon was coming around and/or Schaefer were the good guys way of the future. 2014 has been a brutal year for matchups though, and most of the issues are in Haymon fighter cards (which he reportedly calls all the shots on and just uses people like GoldenBoy as technical promoters that get a smaller cut than other promoters usually get).

Not that promoters are all that useful, but man, just give me better fights, however you do it.

This has be going on LONG before golden boy moved to showtime. Example Andre Berto. Many fighters were not signed with Al at this point. His stable grew a lot about a year before leaving hbo.
