All depends on what you want to see from a fighter. Porter just bull rushing and pressuring Brook may score him points with some judges but when it came down to it Brook caught him with the better shots all through out the fight and Porter landed very few meaningful shots.

Def would not watch again tho. just an awful Title fight.

+1

Was still surprised Porter didn't earn the decision though

Welp. Missed the fight and looks like that is probably a good thing from the recaps I read. Gotta eat crow here I was pretty convinced porter could be a star but apparently not.

I had it for Porter. Tough fight to score.

Brook knocks Khan the **** out.

Yea, I watched a bit of it again. I don't see how the early rounds don't favor Porter a lot. Granted, he wasn't doing a ton, but he was making Brook very uncomfortable and he was landing cleaner body shots than Brook was landing head shots (and Brook landed nothing to the body really).

The later rounds I had for Brook. It added up to a slight Porter advantage to me. Ugly fight, I don't think anyone is really a winner, and I don't think Porter is overrated trash nor do I think Brook is some second coming.

Not sure Brook knocks Khan out either. Khan can probably stay outside and win with speed, Brook wasn't exactly rocking Porter and Porter is sure as hell slower than Khan. Different fight indeed, and anything can happen (including Khan KO of Brook), but to me it's a sort of 6-10th best welterweight clash. 80k ppl in Wembley or whatever, good for Hearn if he does that, but it's just an entertaining bout between non top fighters of the top division in boxing. Enjoyable, but certainly not historic.

When one of these guys can seriously claim to give Floyd, Manny, Marquez, Bradley or even Thurman a run for their money at 147, I'll consider them top contenders. Until then, they are just outside of that tier, and thus nowhere near historic fight level. A competitive battle between non top welterweights.

Definitely feels like a (excellent) domestic scrap to me too. Brook has one good win, and Khan hasn't really done much in a while. I'd like to see Khan v. a Guerrero/Thurman and Brook v. JMM. If the Brits came through that then I would upgrade their fight to world class (or if you want, a superfight).

the weight division is just so stacked that there really is no excuse for any of those guys not to be in a really watchable fight

I don't see how Brook and Khan sell 80k tickets, Froch-Groves 2 this is not, I know that they and their promoters are keen to tell everyone that 'this is the fight that the British public wants to see' but speaking on behalf of the British public...I couldn't really give a ****.

i think they'd sell 80k

khan's a big draw

Don't think they'd sell 80k as the fight stands but with some aggressive promotion I reckon they'd get to 60k for next summer which was the initial allocation for Froch Groves 2.

No way Kell fights Khan first anyway. He will take a soft home coming or 10 like all Brits do.

Hoping Khan hops in with Thurman or Alexander in December!

floyd mayweather trying to read

i don't want to say it's hilarious or anything considering his background and the implications here about poverty, schools, etc but considering he is such a piece of **** outside the ring I think he had it coming. 50 cent seems to have known about his reading problems and owned him

Eddie Hearn's talking about a voluntary against Brandon Rios in December in Sheffield.

Yeah I mean Manny is a hero there, and their sports are not nearly as relevant internationally as ours. He does what he wants

Not sure how you shoot a guy multiple times and escape attempted murder charges.

Kills his career and probably his next fight.
