I guess this is what I was trying to say but you did it more succinctly. You don’t even need to go back to the 80s or 90s for when boxing was really great.
Morales, Pacquiao, Barrera, Marquez, DeLaHoya, Trinidad, etc. etc and for the most part they were all fighting each other in their respective classes.
One of my favorite fighters was Johnny Tapia. My heart hurt for this kid and he fought every fight like it was his last.
It seemed like every month there was an intriguing match up of boxers who could really fight.
