I mean he belongs 1-2 weight classes below 130, Davis probably belongs closer to 140 right now than 130. #matchmaking

Yea, but he's so stout, like Canelo. People kept saying how short Canelo is, but short doesn't mean small, to give an example, Canelo outweighed GGG and has on fight night for like 5+ years. He was cutting a ton just like Davis does.

Maidana is signing with PBC to come out of retirement. Can't imagine he can reach his previous peak, but if he can somehow get back to 147 and win a tuneup, he could be a great stepping stone for Broner to get back into the W column before being fed in a money grabbing fight to a Spence or Thurman type fighter.

What?? He dominated Broner once already. Don't care how fat he is now he'd do the same again.

I think he will be fighting at 154 I don’t see how he gets down to 147 but who knows

Maidana will always be a fun fighter to watch but man is he gonna take a beating. Guess his heart isn't in fight promotion.

ESPN/ESPN+ has an interesting card on a Sunday of all nights. Guess they figure they have to replace the NFL with something.

He dominated him 6 years and 50lbs ago on a 8-4 type fight with a KD. Broner is the same fighter basically, he shows up in shape and has some skills, but he's clearly on the Jessie Vargas level of fighters. I doubt Maidana reaches that level again having been out for 5 years and clearly not staying in anything that resembles athletic shape.

Also it's fine if Maidana were to beat Broner, he could then fight a Thurman or Spence for a good sized payday and seemingly legitimate opponent in the eyes of the average fan.

How's this for a tagline for the Joshua/Miller fight?

You Didn't Ask For This, But You're Getting It!

But hey, Miller can soak up a lot of shots. Maybe the Homer Simpson defense he employs will actually work on AJ.

His weight has been going up as his career has progressed. He was over 300 pounds in his last 3 fights. As a matter of fact, those were the only fights where he did weigh over 300 pounds. I wouldn't be surprised to see him over 320.

Decent shobox tonight this Ergashev guy is supposed to be maybe a legit monster. He’s fighting Vicente Fox’s little bro ( Fox is the guy who stunk it up v Andrade last year) who is apparently undefeated too. 2nd fight is some Ward guy from England the brits here might know more about him than me I think he is supposed to be a skilled boxer but hasn’t fought anyone good but he’s facing a pretty solid shobox vet

Rob Brant fighting some undefeated Eastern European guy I have never heard of on ESPN too with Joshua Greer as the 2nd fight. Greer is someone people seem to think is a good prospect too I’ve never seen him fight. Not bad for a Friday night

This British guy Ward is pretty impressive he’s got some lovely skills shame he doesn’t seem to have much power. Some beautiful body shots and feints and dodges v the slower and more crude Mexican guy. Shutout through four

Edit- as I’m typing that he knocks Hernandez down with a great shot on the chin . 4KOs in 25 fights but 3 in last 6 so maybe growing into his strength . Guy oooks like one to keep an eye on

Brant had a cool moment v Murata for sure but he just doesn’t impress me. Doesn’t really do anything particularly well other than being tall with a good work rate. Don’t r ally care to see him get starched v a top dog he should just take the Murata rematch in Tokyo for loads of cash if he can get it. Haven’t been scoring but not clear he’s even gonna win this fight

"The next Golovkin" is 1 for 46 in jabs so far. The only impressive thing about Ergashev so far has been his promoter's ability to get an article published comparing him to a great.

I didn’t see that lol

This guy is a real basic ***** im good never seeing him again. Tough I guess gotta give him that

Edit- oh you’re talking about the shobox guy I’m not watching that but yeah sounds like he is doing garbage lol. idiots like me buy into the hype after reading an article or two despite never watching him haha

Ergashev was 30-1 favorite in one place
