i lived in Paris for a year or so, i don't have to support PSG do i? i also lived in London for quite some time, should i also support all the London teams? (getting stupid now isn't it)

As for should you have supported a Paris or London team, no, not really; I would imagine though you would have developed some affinity with these places if you'd lived there longer than a few months? Certainly more of an affinity than with a city you have no connection with, such as those described in my earlier quote from Shiels.
