Last year's BDO finalist Dave Chisnall's won through the PDC tour qualifying event, along with a couple of young players (some 19yo from Manchester, 25yo from Ireland) and some random I've never heard of.
The split in darts is really hindering the game reaching the heights it can. Surely it's just some stubborn old fools in charge holding the whole thing back (I'm thinking mainly the BDO - Barry Hearn seems very forward thinking).
Premier League Darts starts on Thursday next week.
The first fixtures...
Mark WEBSSSTTTTAAAAHHHHHHHH vs James Wade
Gary Anderson vs Simon Whitlock
Raymond van Barneveld vs Terry Jenkins
Adrian Lewis vs Phil Taylor
Also, as mentioned before I want to put together a few mini-competitions for a bit of a sweat before the tournament starts.
1) $10 or $20 a head. Hopefully with 8 people, we get a neutral person to randomly draw names giving each participant a player. Assuming $10 a head
WINNER: $50
2ND: $20
LAST: $10
If we get less then 8 we can either have dead players, or buy 2 players or something, I am sure we can sort it out one way or the other once we get a list of people involved.
----------------------------------------
Competition 2 is basically a tipping competition. Pick who will win each match, and by how many legs. Draws can be picked as well, and will be worth 3 points a correct tip rather then 1. Most correct tips is the winner, if there is a tie in tips, the number of exact picks will be the tiebreaker. If that is the same, then the leg difference over all the tips will be the decider. Again, $10 or $20 a head, winner take all for this one IMO...
