Iirc they stop counting it when they reach a finish in the BDO, obviously massively inflating the averages. Not 100% sure on that though.

Not sure why the averages always became the big stat used in darts rather than average number of darts recquired to finish a leg (even though they are essentially equivalent if they calculate the average how I think they do).

Most the darts (Worlds, Premier League, UK Open, World Cup, Irish Open) has been on Fox live since Whitlock made his final in the worlds. It used to be mostly delayed stuff AFAIK...

I think that would be more or less the same.

Number of darts to get on a finish would be the best IMO...

Thats only AFAIK because I have only had foxtel for about 2 years in my own house, and only really got into since that World finals, which was actually on live, I finished a live session, watched it all, and got hooked ever since.

I am usually up this hour anyway, and hadnt seen the darts on that year up until the final, so it might have been a one of thing. They did the same with Neil Robertson in the snooker, playing the final live when I didnt see any other snooker live, and the Snooker Premier League is live now as well, and delayed highlights of other tournaments.

Darts still isnt much of a mark as a sport in this country, though Fox Sports News channel did have a piece on Whitlock in the main bulletin after the Ovens game which was nice. FWIW I mentioned something along the lines of go Whitlock on my facebook and got zero likes or replies lol...

every single darts stat that sky use is potentially misleading, the only decent one used was the first 9 average that the BBC used to show

I remember one Today Tonight show about him from years ago, focusing more on whether he qualified for a disability allowance and what taxes he needed to pay iirc...
